Sorry, this is a repost from legal discussion...

But I was curious if its legal to send high capcity magazines to someone in the Queens area of New york city?

Hicaps are not legal in the five boroughs of NYC.

As far as I know the hi-caps are illegal within NYC, that includes Queens.

a buyer's address had listed a zip code in the queens area, so I wanted to check up on it.

I presume outside of the city is good to go yes?

15 round pistol mags are 100% legal in nyc (might even be 17, I forget the exact number). Rifle mags are the ones that are banned, I believe it's anything over 5 or some shit like that.

outside the city pretty much mirrors the fed ban, pre 1994 mags are ok

Like Bullet said except it's the 17 round number for pistols.  Rifles and shotguns are limited to five rounds.  

It is also illegal in NYC to even possess a magazine or ammunition that you do not have a registered pistol/rifle/shotgun for.
