any further info on them blocking the 121 / sam rayburn? my buddy is planning his birthday and we might go to the benihana at legacy and the tollway - gonna switch up the venue if hooliganery will be afoot

If you're coming from the McKinney/NE Plano area, you can get off at Stacy and take Ridgeview Drive and work your way to that area pretty easily.

"LEO said that they are planning to blocking Rt 121/SRT on Saturday and Sunday."

This came directly from a cop working the event. He said they were going to brief them on the situation with BLM, but his response was, if it is on 121 it is DPS's problem.

They'll more likely block the access roads, but I find it ironic Plano/Frisco et al have no issue writing speeding tickets on the tollway but would kick this to DPS.

I can see exactly why local PD would want to be hands off this.

If the city council and or mayor won't back them because of the possibility of Federal involvement and bad media exposure, it makes perfect sense.

Still not seeing anything advertised for this weekend other than the local people in favor of dropping rockets randomly on civilian areas.

I think they're borrowing it.  That is, unless the CFA gets another drive-through drive-by again.

Sitrep 5/14/21 4:00PM Colin County Jail:
No unusual activity, but the north part of the jail, staff parking and transfers, is cordoned off by this light fencing.  Gates are opened but PCMS at each driveway are showing "Restricted Area", "Authorized Vehicles Only" and "No Pedestrians" messages.  I did not go all the way around to the northern end (near the animal shelter) to see if that entry was also ready for closure.  Maybe left that one open since it is such a nice kettle if protesters drive back there

Update PGA:  Protest planned Sunday 5/16.
Makes sense they are preserving their limited powder for the big day of the PGA show.

Note no location shown.  I will watch for updates... or it could just be a fakeout to get McKinney PD and PGA to react.

Update the local radio yap-yappers, did anyone hear Ken Paxton on Tuesday night?
If I'm under occupation, it's news to me, or it was the briefest occupation in the history of fake occupations.
The opposition likes to talk big and get the right all kerfuffled.  Inciting the response, whether in person or online.

Tiger Woods is no longer a factor on the tour but I don't see that happening.

It will be interesting to see how McKinney PD responds to this.

Apparently a sizeable crowd in downtown today for the pro-shooting-rockets-at-civilians rally.  Started in Dealey Plaza but I've heard mention of Belo Gardens now.  Police around but not any special response yet.
This account monitors DPD radios for protesters and has a general play by play.

N1511L, a B06, is the Dallas ghetto bird. There was another up but it may be Careflight. I think the news services are flying R44's and R66's these days.

N1510L is the other DPD B06.  I guess Flightaware didn't have a flight plan?  Is whichever one is in the air takes the Air 1 name?

I have started adding back info to the first post as I find it.  Lost last year's stuff in the archive scrub.

I'll look around my office some, I have a card with the tail numbers that were up during the riots last year. DPD, the TV birds, DPS PC-12, and a few random others, all from ADS-B.

Eurocopters are the helos, PC-12 are the dedicated snooper fixed-wing, and some of the others probably have some more limited recce capabilities.

Apparently the Marvin Scott III crowd was back in front of the CoCo Commissioners' Court (a.k.a. Co^4) today.  Public meetings like the Commissioners Court and City Councils have open microphone time at nearly every meeting where citizens can address the governing body on any topic.  Use it!

Also hearing there may be a pro-Israel rally on Wednesday, May 19.  I presume in downtown Dallas.  I don't have an advertisement yet but I will update when I get a chance.

Yes, these are public meetings with records and minutes. Nobody checks the names or addresses though.  "They" have to give their names too.

Note that 99% of cities have meetings at night.  Only Dallas that I work with, and things like the Commissioner's Court, have daytime meetings.  Your mayor and city council people will often set up meetings with HOAs or other organizations periodically (i.e., election time).

Edit:  Just saying that the politicians are sensitive to public speakers.  They know it is a dedication to go do this, whatever time of day.  So it means more than the average letter, email, or call.

Dallas zoning meetings are in the afternoons. Parks meetings are in the morning.

If you happen to have an interest in something the zoning board is deciding and it's controversial, you'll sit through 3 or 4 hours of other bullshit before they get to you.

Yeah, I had heard there was something pro-Israel on Wed and lefties were going to respond, but I could never find a location.  Guess I should have figured it was up in the more Jewish part of town.  Air 1 and some police were on scene, apparently arrested a guy for flying a drone.

That seems to be common practice for all local government  Addison would do the same thing and I've noticed similar tactics by Plano. But I've also noticed Plano does try to get the easy/quick stuff out of the way 1st sometimes.

There's a Synagogue just south of 635 on Preston, on Saturdays you can see a lot of conservative Jewish families walking the area.  It looks like the std LEO response is becoming smile and waive while people snarl up traffic.

No, that's a few blocks away.  IRS is just south of there
But just a very central location southeast of the BoA tower, from which they could go in any direction.  And big parking lots around there.  And the McDonalds where a guy killed a cop back in the day.
AT&T Discovery District is right there too now.

7 - 8 years ago, my wife and I went on a guided tour of downtown with a group of about 20 people on a Saturday night. Even back then it was wild. I can't imagine what it's like now. Belo garden had at least one black religious group literally screaming about their issues and this was way before Trump and BLm. Like I said, we had about 20 middle class suburban folks with us in our group, I felt safer with the group, but I didn't not feel safe and I was CCW.

If you're bored, go cruise down Main St and the West End at night with your windows rolled down.
