They won’t if you do your part, contacting your legislators, joining GOA. Phelan is as pro second amendment speaker I have ever seen in any large state.

You know Utah just passed their Constitutional Carry, in Montana it is on the Governor’s desk, and it is just about through the Indiana legislature.

And Montana Governor just signed Constitutional Carry! 18 out of 50 is not bad.

I don't know if you remember me, but We've met up back when I was in Austin.

If you read any of the Texas Threads, one thing I think I'm sort of noted for is Repeatedly Urging Texans to CALL / WRITE / MEET their Representatives & Senators to SUPPORT our Gun Rights. (AND TO VOTE!!!)

Even though I'm told voting means nothing, and Politicians don't listen to Constituants, I still DO IT because I have seen it make the Difference.

The Opposition is Mobilized and Ready to Oppose US with Orginization, Numbers & Lots of $$$$.    We have to do our part or else not bitch about another defeat!

Absolutely Have Contacted & Will Continue to Contact my Representative & Senator until they say "Oh - It's YOU Again!"

I remember you. This session I think is going to be different in that even with all other stuff the legislature has to deal with Constitutional Carry has a very good chance of passing. One other bill I think is very important is the bill that removes control of gun, ammo, sales and carrying in an emergency. God for bid if Bob the Fake Mexican steals the governorship, he would ban the sale of guns and ammo if he shit his pants.

Robert O'Rourke, AKA "BETA" the crossdressing punk rocker, said on TV today he was not running for the Governors Office in the next election.

Now, Politicians HAVE been known to be "less than honest" (and Especially so of Democratic Socialistic Pieces of Shit), but I think BETA has his eyes set on Jo Xiden putting him in some Federal Position ....

Could still be that "Gun Czar Confiscator in Chief" position BETA wet dreams about...

I'd like to smash "Dan the Dumbass" Patrick in his bitch mouth, (but would never advocate or support the actual physical harm to any person or politician per the COC )

WTF is SB-19 that Patrick is referring to in his Top 30?   I can't seem to find anything on it.

Is it some B.S. "Sanctuary State" political theater that doesn't mean an thing crap?

Go cry somewhere else, there quite a few different Constitutional Carry bills in the House and a few in more in the Senate. The Texas Republican Party has Constitutional Carry in it’s platform. Patrick is in for a pretty rude awakening, Abbott is in a bit of trouble, and could be more if the electric grid deal goes upside down on him.

I don't have faith in Dan Patrick, nor Governor Abbott to lift a finger (except their middle ones ) for us when it comes to Constitutional Carry for the "little people"  ...

I'm afraid that the Great Blizzard & Black Out of 2021 will suck all the oxygen out of the Capital in the Free For All Blame Game and "Gun Rights" will be left sitting in the snow to die like the "Little Match Girl"...

Not saying the ERCOT mismanagement will suck up some oxygen, however the legislature also has the normal budget issues plus redistributing. But to sit and whine and cry before a single bill has been assigned to committees. If you put half the energy into contacting your legislators as you do it to posting here whining and crying we would have a good chance of getting Constitutional Carry passed. Abbott has said he would sign Constitutional Carry, the Chair of Homeland Security where most gun bills are heard has authored two Constitutional Carry bills, and Phelan is supporting Constitutional Carry, he could have appoint an anti-gun DUMBocrat to chair Homeland Security, instead he appointed a very pro gun rights chair.

Also with Constitutional Carry as a plank in the Texas Republican Party, Patrick could wind up without a lot of party support in the primary. With Alan West as head of the Republican Party it is not the same party as 4 years ago. I personally don’t give a fuck what Patrick’s agenda is, right now the Senate not just the House has Constitutional Carry bills, have ALL OF YOU contacted your state Senator to co-author SB540, the Senate Constitutional Carry bill?

Sign up for the GOA gun rights e mails, they are currently updating weekly. Texas legislature is still filing bills, so that is the only way to stay current. NRA and TSRA are currently doing nothing to keep people current. To get GOA e mails you DO NOT have to be a GOA member.

I guess TSRA leaved well from WLP, if you are not paying dues they don’t send out e mails. Funny how GOA lets you on their e mail lists without joining.

I got three emails, but only one was a legislative update.  The second was good, though, about having a town hall/webinar thing (I'm VERY glad they're learning from the GOA on this).  The third, wait, I didn't get a third.  I wonder what I missed.

It is not dead until it is assigned to a Democrat controlled committee.  That is the bullshit they have done in the past.  If that happens, no amount of calling senators and congressmen can save it.  The single most important vote was who is the speaker - he assigns bills to committees.  So far he has done nothing to give me any access of hope.

Uh, Alice Tripp stopped working for TSRA in 2019. You should know that.
But when she did, she successfully lobbied for over 75 pro gun bills that made it into law and kept almost 300 anti gun bills from becoming law.
I'm not defending her as the best lobbyist, but pointing out that she wasn't the failure you think. She may have done more with her limited resources than any other Texas lobbyist.

Contrast her history with that of GOA. Zero results. But man can they send emails.

If you think daily emails from GOA or any other organization to the membership is just, like, totally awesome and brilliant strategery.......you will be greatly disappointed.

But I want to see Constitutional Carry passed in Texas

I would say we all do.

I look at people like you as the real problem! You no idea that the Chair of Homeland Security has written 2 Constitutional Carry bills. Homeland Security committee is where just about all gun bills go for a hearing. Phelan is one of the most pro-gun speakers I have ever seen.

I guess you must think Bonner is still speaker, he did not even hang onto his seat. If you see the name Bonnen in the House it is his brother who just has a seat.

E mails is how people are kept up to date. I was real pissed with the NRA running 12 days about Meza’s idiot anti-gun bills that will never get a hearing in a committee.

I used to send the NRA-ILA around $500 a month, after the bullshit started with WLP, stealing money from the NRA, and forcing the ‘board’ to be a bunch of yes men I am done with the NRA getting anything. The NRA for politics has become no better than NAGR.

Assigning 14 of 35 committee chairs to democrats did not inspire confidence.  The refusal of the house to support many conservative rules amendments also did not inspire confidence.  My "super conservative" congressman voting against the majority of the rules amendments that were part of the party platform did not inspire confidence.  Yet I am doing my best to stay optimistic-assignment of bills to committee is more important that all of that stuff.  I do visit with and speak with my congressman and senator.  They did both run as conservative options in the primaries.  I just fear both are becoming Austin swamp creatures.  But when my county executive committee is seriously voting to censure at least one of them - it does not inspire confidence.  The problem is even though they know we are strongly conservative - each has larger counties that are not and they want to remain central enough to win those more than appeasing us.

I will speak to them again.  I will have meetings with their aids and probably them as well during the legislative season.  I probably will continue to support GOA and TSGA.  Not really feeling the love to support the NRA right now.  That said, while both probably own token AR's - I don't think they are gun people.

Reggie Smith and Drew Springer are my reps. Don't know much about Smith but I believe Springer has been the sponsor of a number of bills.  GOA is good about sending out alerts and provide convenient contact info. We must stay on top of them. Everytown and the Mad Mommies have a big presence in Austin and we need to counteract that any way possible.

Just about every state with Constitutional Carry (I am not sure of Vermont) has permits. The main reason some states ‘permits’ can bypass NICS is because they do a very through FBI background check and require a full set of finger prints.

I will keep my LTC just to bypass NICS, it is also nice when you travel out of state.

Texas Legislature is being "slow rolled" in terms of bills being assigned to committees on purpose. Old powers that be do NOT wan CC passed or even considered. Last session Bonnen put a rabid anti 2A guy in charge of the Public Safety Committee. This time the the "slow roll" accomplishes the same thing. We're ruled not represented.

Damn,

The Fact that Governor "Wide Open" Abbott & Lt. Governor "I'm O.K. with Some Gun Control" Patrick don't seem to care about Constitutional Carry in the LEAST is discouraging to say the least.

However, I will continue to Contact my State Senator & Representative to let them know that I VOTE in EVERY Primary & Election and it is VERY IMPORTANT to my Voting Decisions!

I really see the Blame Basketball Game taking up a LOT of attention & time, at a period when TIME is critical if it is to pass.

I hope all my Fellow Texans who care about their Gun Rights continue (or start) to do the same!

Abbott has said he will sign Constitutional Carry, there are now 2 Constitutional Carry bills from State Senators, they don’t seem to care what Patrick thinks. The House had 5 CC bills. After talking with quite a few House members yesterday there is a lot of support for both CC and restricting the Governor’s powers on firearms in emergency situations.

I really hope I'm an idiot and you're the brightest bulb on the tree,,,,but,,I've seen how those yokels operate too. For decades. My State Rep, Chris Paddie, chairs the State Affairs Committee. He also took $15,000 from the PAC Dennis Bonnen started to keep his spot on the steering wheel of state government. Bonnen is an asshole and there's NO way he'll support CC.

Do you even know that Dennis Bonner is gone. He did not run for re-election, he knew he fucked up so bad, that he went back to banking. Now his brother Greg has a different district, so far he has kept his head down, but guess what Monday I’m stopping in his office to see him. I may stop in a see your rep too.

I guess you don’t know that about 10 not real pro-gun Republicans got replaced with real solid Pro-gun, pro Constitutional Carry legislators due to a lot of on the ground work on the part of GOA.

Do I even know Bonnen is gone??? ROFLMAO. He and Pancho and the whole mess last session is fresh on my brain. I made an attempt to play nice and you insult me or at least attempt to. Not nice. Didn't know about the PAC Bonnen has???? He is most definitely still in the game if not actually in office.

Noticed that the monument protection bill (the one that was supposed to increase penalties for BLM destroying monuments) has been given to a committee chaired by a black democrat from Dallas - hasta la vista for that bill.  There might be a second Alamo bill that has not been assigned yet.

Do you even know that Dennis Bonner is gone.

He didn't say or allude to Dennis Bonner still being in office. He wrote that his rep (Chris Paddie) took money from the PAC started by Dennis Bonnen. Bonnen starting that PAC to keep his influence on state government......even though he isn't in the Legislature.
