Yep..

Anyone up for a Friday afternoon jaunt to Waco?  The show runs til 6, although most of the dealers will be upstairs drinking beer by then.  I'm leaving 1-2 ish, then to Waco, then dinner in Waco after the show.

Its a small building, maybe eventually they plan to utilize the civic center. Upsher is a 2a sanctuary county btw, if yall go, go south of town to eat at bubbas fat burger. It will be a little difficult to get to going southward, as you have to pass it up, and go down (hwy 271 towards gladewater)  inside lane and to the tiny overpass and use the turnaround there. But worth it.

Last call - anyone up for the Waco antique firearms show tomorrow afternoon?

As usual, the Antique Arms show on the NW side of Waco is the place to go to pick up a Colt Lightning - or a C&R SP1.  I think I saw all of 5 guns at the show that weren't antique or C&R eligible.  Admission $5, will take you all of an hour to walk the show twice.  But you'll see more guns older than your grandfather in that amount of time than you'll see in Tulsa in an hour.

Heard there's another gun show venue in Brownwood.  Will let y'all know what I find out - apparently we just missed a show.

I made it to gilmer today.  They actually were using several of the rooms this time, and had mostly gun or related stuff.  One person had kitchen knives, few others had other stuff.  I got off at 7am so didnt make it until after noon.  Normal stuff for a smaller show, not many big dealers, mostly local individuals.  Still some overpriced ammo not moving.  If you've got cash Sunday it might be worth a trip since didnt seem things were very busy.

Anyone other than RebleYell & tacton have tables this weekend?  Jeffb1911 will visit Winnsboro Saturday, we'll have our usual FW dinner Sat night.  I'll try to hit the Cleburne show Friday afternoon.

Cleburne - Whipp Farm - this is their Antique Alley show, and I have not been, so unsure of how many guns will be displayed.  Dragging motown_steve along Friday afternoon, Friday night drinks will be at Outskirts, 2116 E. FM 4 around the corner.  m35ben may make a guest appearance.
18-19 September

Everyone please congratulate HenryKnoxFineBooks, our new Social Secretary.  If you have a suggestion for a new location for lunch or dinner around a show, let him know.

Went to Winsboro today.  i've been there many times, and this time seemed busier.  At least a lot of people where there early on.  It is a small venue in a small town, but a lot of wilderness that has a lot of gun people out there.  Wound up getting rid of some things though, but didnt find anything there i just had to have.  Had a good time though.  Some guys were saying they did well, while the normal complainers were griping it was slow.  Ammo is not moving very well at the stupid prices anymore, although some tables with 3030 and other hunting calibers seemed to be selling a box or two at a time.  Few tables with lots of AR types, both rifles and shotguns, but they did not seem to be doing near as well as the guys just trading their stuff.  Overall a decent little show if you are close enough to make it there.  Better get your GPS maps loaded though, cel signal is kind of spotty up there sometimes.

I witnessed the woman at the door at the table on the right turn three kids away.  

She asked for ID and the one kid showered her what looked like a DL.  
She said you have to be 21 or older to enter without a parent.  

They were obviously upset and were arguing that you only need to be 18 to buy a rifle.  
As far as I remember, they are right.

I looked up the show online and don’t see anything about having to be 21.  

An 18 year old me would have been pissed off too.

I saw the door monitors turn people away at the Greenville show and they turned a father and son away at Market Hall because his son was too young.
Has someone spooked the promoters?

Market Hall?  How long ago was this?  Hasn't been a Market Hall show in a few months.

There were babies in strollers yesterday in Fort Worth.

It may have been the next to last show at MH.
I thought it was odd at Greenville. But then that's the first show I have seen where they were checking if you bought something there when you left.  Bought items were tagged and they checked for tags as you left. Loss prevention I guess.

RebleYell was telling us last night about the time someone stole Beretta's gold Damascened pistol from SHOT Show.

Anyone hit the Nacogdoches show?  I'd join you but I managed to catch the flu the very night after the flu shot.  Imagine that.

Anyone know what the parking situation is at the FTW convention center?

Parking situation sucks since they destroyed the subway & replaced it w/ parking garages all over downtown.

I don't know much about the USCCA is the show open to the public or do you have to be a member? Is there an admission fee or ticket required?

It says online purchase of tickets is no longer available and that admission can only be purchased at the front gate of the event, but it doesn't list a price anywhere.  I would assume there's a cost to admission.  What a crappy event site.

On the flip side, they have a website.  Our Brownwood promoter only has a phone #, and one of the regular N Texas promoters hasn't updated his website in 2 years, and directs you via link to GunShows-USA where he's no longer advertising.  Do they have a phone # you can call?

Azle is a quite small show, but easy enough to get to - just go straight NW out Hwy 199.  You can stop off @ Trinity Ordnance on the way there or the way back on Saturday, you just have to route through the neighborhood to get there:

A lot of vendors are starting to drop prices.  
Still a lot of way overpriced stuff too.

I found an $11,000.00 1911 for sale.

Everything else was overpriced, too.

Did find some 45 Colt and 45 Auto Rim, though.

They do make 45AR, at least some of the smaller manufacturers do.  I found 2 boxes of buffalo bore 45AR wadcutters for 25 each at Ft Worth.
