90% paper, then steel.

I have only ran practice once.

Second go around was a match(today).

26 shooters.
Lotsa high dollar race guns.
I was using my EDC......M&P 9 4.25" with Ameriglo iDots.

Was gonna use the CORE, minus Vortex viper, but the stocks sights I was not comfy with. SO broke out the EDC

Finished 16 with 24 seconds of penatlties

Nowhere to go but up from here.

Where was this?  Elm Fork in Dallas used to have a weekly evening event.  Was fun, but I believe they stopped doing it.  Would like to find someplace else and do it again.

Proactive Defense.
Pretty much on the property of Quail Creek.

Once a month on the matches and once a month practice.

Good for you, OP.
You have skin in the game, unlike tons of worthless fucks out there, myself included!

Pretty decent using a carry gun.  Hard to beat the race guns some of those folks are crazy fast

It does have a full Apex trigger job.....about a 3lb pull. It has Ameriglo iDots.
The sights were a bit hard to see, but WAY better than stock. This is my EDC so they work for that.

I was running 115gr rounds too, next time it will be 147gr.

I had so much fun, and did not come in dead last, I decided to properly build the 5" CORE.
It already has the full Apex kit too, about 3lbs. Would like to do things to bring it down a step at a time until i find a sweet spot.
Dawson FO front and blacked out rears. Will be the first step.
A steel magwell, to move some of the weight down a bit and help with swaps.
a few mag extensions. 140mm....I think will give me +6...more weight down low.
I may just put a KKM threaded bbl and a compensator on it.

The only thing that is keeping me from moving on with the sights, is I am not 100% sure I want to write off the red dot just yet. "
So not sure if I want to go co-witness/suppressor height, or regular.
I need to see what the threads are on SilencerCo cans....if it is 1/2 x28.....I foing on the tall sights.

Those upgrades should definitely speed you up, 147 grain ammo should help a bit too IMO.

I'm kind of in the same boat as you as far as a rmr and suppressor height sights go. I run the factory front and blacked out rear on my 34, but would like to get FO on the front.

I find my magwell helped a ton in weight distribution and on reloads, as it should.

I started shooting the NTXLF matches with my edc 19 earlier in the year, but since built specific purpose 34. It was like night and day for me.

This was one of Ryans matches.....Bunch of good people!

I was working on some basics a bit ago. Had to get away from this PC/work/play. Home offices are awesome when you can work on technique during a conf. call

I was visualizing what I had done, and how to fix the mistakes and work on speed......then is dawned on me, if that was a defensive real life deal, I would have had zero COM misses.
It also hit me, that these courses are not that easy for a majority of people. Hollywood is FOS.....

Ryan is great people, he doesn't let me score his runs when I RO as he knows I'm going to add 10-12 extra seconds to his time. Lol

I started running a camera on my earpro at half the matches so I can go back and rewatch the runs. You definitely get an interesting perspective and can find the places you're losing time.

I need to do a lot more dry fire drills around the house, but I like being half ass mediocre, so I don't see it happening.

Why will 147gr help? Accuracy?
Thanks.

Less felt recoil.

Helps on the follow up shot.

Not to mention if you're shooting impact activated steel targets, they show a more positive activation. Not as big an issue with pistol but can be with rifle.
