Her family appears to be well off but I wouldn't have described her as stuck up back then. I made a point of avoiding her as did a lot of other people.

Back when I was with a VFD on the west side of Houston, she applied with us. She showed up to the monthly meeting, stood up, told us about herself. Things seemed a bit *hinky* though, and we denied her. Looking back, it was definitely for the better....
