The last time I sent in my packet was during the craze a few years ago when it was taking DPS six months to get CHL's out. Mine was sent back for bad finger prints and since I was deployed I never bothered to send it back. Anyway I sent a new packet in last week, called today to make sure they recieved it and everything was ok. A very helpful lady said it went into processing two days ago. So how long are these taking nowadays?

Heard 60 days from a friend who recently recieved his first license.

DPS has 90 days to issue, deny or tell you they need more time.

My students are reporting 30 days to 6 weeks is the average.  There are always exceptions.
