There is a lot of hate for Austin and while it's not the best place to live in Texas, it's really NOT that bad. I just avoid all the liberals and hippies and enjoy living here. |

If you get a chance, go South to Cabela's in Buda. It's worth the trip.
Gunstores: McBrides & TexGuns are pretty close to downtown. GDS Enterprise is also worth the trip. Not open Fri-Sun (gunshows). Heading North and WAY North, Heritage & "The Gun Store". Eat at a Chuy's and a Maudie's. Drink Mexican Martinis at the first, topshelf on the rocks margaritas at the second. Gumbo's downtown is my favorite steak/seafood/cajun restaurant. |

Thanks for the advice everyone! Today was definietly interesting to say the least. I'm disaapointed that I'm only able to visit here, I don't feel like I'm in TX. More like Palm Springs or something.

Downtown has an interesting feel to it and some fun places to visit but there's a reason most normal folks call it the " Moscow on the Colorado".
