I'll be there for both matches!!!
I just got hired as being an auto mechanic again and will be working on ALL Saturdays starting next week mike.

Can I just go and see what this is all about? I have never particpated in any kind of match..... Would like to see how all this works.

Trust me.
Bring a rifle - AR, lever action, bolt action, whatever. Bring a few mags. Stuff them in your pocket if you have to - other folks do. And just shoot. I've been shooting at Mike's matches for 7 years or so. His matches are low on stress, and high on fun. The only stress is that which you put on yourself. All you gotta do is listen to the Range Officer. Remember safety above all else, and you'll be GTG. If you have questions, ask. Many folks here and at the match will be glad to help. ETA: If I don't work on Saturday, I'll be at the Carbine match. If you'd like I'll meet you there,and I'm more than happy to talk/walk you through the match. |

ARC is closed this weekend for March Madness, it's a youth match. I just got the message this morning.

I don't think I've ever met you Backstop??? If you read this before you leave this morning look for a white 4 door nissan frontier truck with gray fender flares.....that'll be mine and I should be near it.
 I'll be wearing a black LaRue tactical hat.

Great match Mike. Fun as always.

We'll try another time to get on the same squad. –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– And as a side note: I generally don't pay attention to how folks lube their guns, but today I was doing the "preloading" of folks to keep the match going. And I have never seen so many dry ARs and AKs. You'd think lube cost $50.00 an ounce these days. I mean DRY. Like hit the bolt release and hear metal grating dry. We're all adults, and I'm not there to lecture anyone. It was all I could do to not say anything. Did say something to one guy who had a FTF the previous stage, and another guy whose bolt was freaking dry. Meanwhile, my AR was slinging CLP all over the place.

Shockz, 57Strat and Zhukov, I'll still be there tomorrow to shoot. I'll be wearing a black LaRue Tactical hat, again, and be driving the same truck.

I am sure it depends on how many shooters there are, but how long do the matches typically take?

If you help set up expect to be there from 0800 till 1300-1330 or from 0900 if you don't help set-up till 1300 or 1330
