I pass by a small smokehouse everyday off Inwood @ Harry Hines. It's directly across from the UT SW Medical Center called Sonny Bryan's Smokehouse. They serve up good BBQ beef sandwiches and very good rib sandwiches. I tried their onion rings too - huge buggers. Everything was great.

I couldnt agree more. Sonny Bryant's is a Dallas landmark. Some of the best BBQ in the state is served there.

Been about 25yrs. since I've eaten there.
Just don't get over to that part of town anymore.

Anyone ever go to Andersons Bar-B-Q? I havnt been to Sonny Bryans over there but I go to Andersons every chance I get. Its at Harry Hines and Butler st. across from UTSW as well.

I tried Anderson's today. Good beef brisket but their sauce wasn't up to par with Sonny Bryan's.  However, the owner's wife (or daughter - I don't know which) is one attractive gal. If you don't see her, there are a couple of pictures of her in a race car above the cart where you get your pickles and onions. She's friendly. She said the car topped out at 154 MPH (governor?). That's still pretty fast. |

I havent been there, but my favorite place is Red Hot & Blue on 75@Walnut Hill....

Ditto the Red Hot & Blue. They have the best tater salad in DFW.
