I know RCS guns had mentioned one several months ago, is there still any interest?
If there is, lets make it silencer only. We could run it out at Ralphs range and have it open to whoever is interested. I'm thinking early October. Update: Currently the I's have it! Nov 10 at 11am at Ralphs range. CNL, would you let Ralph know our intentions. All silencers, bring what you got or just come out and find out what you like. I'm quite sure there will be some folks there to take orders! I'm personally hoping to demo a SWR Spectre. |
I have lots of stuff for demo, I just do not bring it to the big shoots since it is not "silencer only", and thus would get lost in all the noise.
Yes, that was my thinking as well. Just no point when lots of folks are shooting unsuppressed.
I was just thinking about this again at the Tom Bean shoot. Let's try for October to beat the heat and I'll work on getting my BRO down here with the smoker for some good grub.
We could also do this over at my partner's range, just South of Tom Bean so we'd have access to a shop and tools. Also do an AR Build party if that's still of interest. What do you all think? |
I believe that is going to happen at the ETRPC East Texas Shoot on September 29th.

Any chance mine might be in by then? |
I want this to be silencer only I don't care if it's black powder, MG or 50BMG, it has to have a can.
I think this would get a lot of people off the fence about silencers. I'm quite sure with enough folks we will probably get every make and model there is out there. It would be open to anyone who has an interest in silencers. Watch, listen or show off it does not matter to me. There is no reason for everyone in Texas not to own one! ETA: Those interested, how does Saturday October 27 sound? |
Isnt that the big Tiger Valley open shoot? |
Don't know...... Alternate date? I'm in Vegas on the 12-15th. Anyone opposed to a Sunday? |
Yep, Sep/Oct are pretty busy in Texas. I would move it up to 9/8. 08/26 - Dallas Pistol Club Real Steel 09/09 - Dallas Pistol Club Tactical Shotgun 09/08-09/09 - Gun Show Ft. Worth 09/16 - Dallas Pistol Club Metal Mania 09/15-09/16 - Gun Show Big Town 09/15-09/16 - Tiger Valley Open Shoot 09/22 - SilencerTalk Silencer Shoot 09/22-09/23 - Gun Show Market Hall 09/23 - Dallas Pistol Club Real Steel 09/29 - NE Texas Shoot at Longview 09/29 - Tiger Valley Bug Out Drill 10/20-10/21 - GSSF/Slayton 10/27-10/28 - Tiger Valley Black Rifle Event |

Im in for whenever....
Must remind self to get more 147 grain ammo.... |
I don't have one yet either, but after last Saturday I believe it is a must have for my collection.
I'm game.
Maybe I can take my approved F1, roll it into a tube, and stuff it with fibreglass??? I think that may be all it's ever good for |
I'll order the materials when I get back, unless you want to? |
Nah, I can wait... |
If you're going to Longview on September 29, then talk to Jim about the material list again. |
I don't have a can yet, but I can watch...and try to learn something
I can bring mine out if there are no conflicts with anything else I have going. I am doing the bugout, and Dove season starts next weekend so that will keep us pretty busy for a couple weekends anyway. My wife loves dove and she can smoke them like no other.
As RenegadeX has previously noted, it seems as if Chili17/Chris Hipes waits until someone posts a schedule of upcoming events for him decide when to schedule his north Texas submachine matches... just like clockwork, it never fails, the next one is set for September 29 to coincide with 2 other events... |

If you're good, you can shoot the AR10 suppressed. |
Yes, I would have bet the farm he would pick the 25/22/29, and not 9/8 or 10/6 or 10/13. The only time in the last 2-3 years it has worked for me was when he picked the weekend of the Uzitalk shoot. |
I would be. I'm putting my trust together, and want to get a can shortly thereafter. I may not be able to make this one depending on timing, but I would like to.
Well, we can push it up like Renegade suggested or we can bump it back to November. At least that would allow some folks that have F4's in the works to get them in hand.
Looking at the things going on in Sept and Oct, it may be best to bump it to November. Of course then we're talking deer season, but I don't deer hunt anymore. If we bump it up lets say Sept 8. If we bump it back lets say Nov 10. |
I say 09/08. C'mon...Nov. 10 is like 3 months away Let's do it again in Nov
I'm sure the M4-1000 will already be well represented but I'll bring mine too... Will anyone have a Trident/Evo in 9 for demo? |
I have a Trident9 you can check out. Is the chosen range going to ge FA friendly?
I had one at Ralph's this past weekend. Had Special K too. Also, had Sig 226, Glock 17 & 34 to try it on. This is why we need a silencer only shoot. I am good with either date. 11/10 will allow more folks to get stuff in (including me), and will be a lot cooler. |
Ok, I'm going to run the poll until this Sunday evening. Then I'll make an official announcement.
Also, do we want to have this at Ralphs? RCS guns has offered up a place to shoot as well. I hope this reads ok, my ambien is kicking in. Good night. |
Ralph's is probably most crowd friendly, but the big metal shop next to the range is less than ideal conditions for a silencer shoot....
Go to Mickey's place. Change the lock when everyone is in. |
Hard to control the crowd to keep it silencer only...likely to have shooters there not associated with this shoot. |
I just got my second can yesterday...................so yes, I will come.
My vote is for OCT as I am a hunter. I will try to show up if I can.
hmm... Being that I have Froggirl (you know, the 7 year old with the full auto .22 ceiner kit in the ac556) opening weekend of deer season, I will probably be deer huntin on the 10th. If not, I will be there.
we'll try to be there - can't say for sure (kids and their activities) but it's defintely something we'd like to do...
I am planning to come and hopefully I have a trust set up by that time. I also plan on bringing both of my boys. I have got to get them interested in this great past time while they are still young. Would anyone be adverse to allowing a 11 or an 8 year old try a suppressed 22?
I'm sure my son will share his! |
That would be great!!!!!!!! Neither of my kids like loud noises so this would be great for them. Go figure??? |
Ill let him know |
I would love to come and listen. If anyone could bring a halo, that would be tits.
I am new to Houston (moving in on the 21st) so if I can make it, count a Gemtech HALO and HK Mark 23 with SWR H.E.M.S. 2 being there.
bump.
I'll be bringing 2 SWR Warlocks, AAC M4-2000 06' and a SWR Trident 9. |
