Anybody plan on heading out to ASC this weekend?

I finally got off my butt and handloaded some ammo for the bolt gun, and have some other new gear to try out as well.  Sat. or Sun. doesn't really matter to me, just trying to plan ahead.

Looking like Tomball GC for me, on at least Sat.  There is the first BR match of the season and I am going to give it a try.

Maybe ASC on Sunday for some long-range stuff.  Depends on how bad it is on Sat....

I think Tim and TX65 are hitting ASC on Sunday.

Hey Tonster!!

Benchrest competition - Gulf Coast Region Unlimited and Gulf Coast Region Heavy Varmit Championship.  The Unlimited is on Sat and the HV on Sunday.

Tomball Gun Club does not have a website.  I have only shot up there a couple of times, it is a closed membership club (I am not one ) and you have to go with a member.  Sure is a beautiful range though...

Maybe if I get my SPR upper by then.....It's lookin like its gonna get here monday though

If it does get here, I'll go shoot it with the Irons on it (scope is still in transit as well)

Yes...the FN is past tense, and yes I do got through rifles pretty fast.

The SPR is gonna be pretty nice

Got the upper from ADCO

WOA upper
WOA B/BC/CH
WOA 18" SS SPR contour Barrel (contoured by WOA from a wilson match blank)
Daniel Defense 12.0 rail
Flip-up front and rear sights
Topped with an IOR M2 4X24 scope with .223 cam sitting in an Armalite 1 piece mount
Stag arms lower with standard M4 collapsible stock

Yeah, you can go ahead and put in your bid now and I'll let you know if you win

Well, that is pretty close to the one I just sold myself:

CMT upper
CMT B/BC/CH
WOA 18" SS SPR Contour
Smith Vortex
Magpul rail covers
Larue 12.0
Larue gas block
Larue SPR mount
Leupold Mark 4 M1 8.5-25x50 mil-dot
CMT lower - A2 - Magpul MIAD
Jewell trigger

(Actually I kept the lower and scope, but when you need a price on selling that upper I can let you know what mine went for as they are essentially identical...  )

Buddy, if I can qualify out to 500 yds with a POS issue M16A2 and Iron Sights, I think my SPR might be able to reach just as far.....especially if I'm shooting 75 or 77 gr.

regardless of what you supposedly were trying to type, I still think you and your 6.5 are gay.

So you might as well get rid of that black freefloat tube thats on it and get a pink one, you're not fooling anyone

I drove over to the 100 to look for you after a while, I saw you lug some rifles back to your Exploder. I saw the car but didnt see you anywhere so I left.(Lack food was making me seeing black spots.)

lol, yeah I had 2 new bolt guns I needed to test for functionality, then I dumped them back in the car.  I stayed on the 100 line shooting the K31 until about 6 pm.

The holes were shot way to the edge of the paper, but their rules are no holes other than the 5 in the center white.

American Shooting Center.

If you ever make the mistake of shooting there at the 100 yard range or closer, you may never go backh
You have to qualify at 300 for any shooting farther then 300, but they do have a 400 and 600 yard berm (500 yard stands on the 600 yard range).

Handgun's a joke, though if you wanna drop $16 to shoot steel it's OK.

for all the snobbiness put on this forum about ASC, it's still one of the best places to shoot in Houston outside of your own private land, and where the 200 and beyond are un attended by the range management.

if you don't like it, don't fucking go, it's not that hard to understand.
