I was a bit surprised to see the Texas Minutemen at the Denton Gun Show, more surprised by the videos and the pictures they had on display....
My question, have you, or willing to voluteer for this effort? Maybe an ARF15 thing? Here is their web site: www.txminutemen.org |
Absolutely. I have been following their work for a while. Only problem is I have a job.... so getting away if difficult. If it got to crisis mode.... that would be a different story.
Could be made into a long weekend...thur, fri, sat and home on sunday....
Fly SW Air into El Paso and let the training begin... |
Got to speak with them at the TSRA Gunshow. They are going back on Apr. 1st, and where they are going is the hotspot right now. If the .gov is not going to do anything, then someone has to.
Sounds like a good way to get the FEDS to crawl up your ass with a microscope. All it takes is one minor FU...........................................
So the Fucking Mexican Army crossing the border is ok, as long as the feds are not crawling up your butt....... Ok, I better get off the soap box..... |
I get the Minutemen and RR confused. I would join the Minutemen, but not RR. |
If I was retired and lived down there I would go for the RR or the MM. But I am in no situation that would enable me to do so.
I'd go but the pay sucks :)
Seriously, i'd volunteer for a short time when i'm not out on contract. But my wife would have a bit of a problem with me coming back home and instead of spending my time with her running off to the border. And NO! She definitely would not be interested in a border camping trip, LOL. |
Well....on the wife "front" I have issues on border work as well. Maybe I should not have let here see the videos of the federales verbally confronting some of the MM in Arizona...
It's funny, she is always complaining about "illegals" but when I indicate there is something we can do to help, like others in this thread, there is always some excuse or reason not too... |
I'd go as long as there was no restrictions on me as far as shooting and what gun and how much ammo I can carry.
Maybe some vacation time could be spent doing something that counts. |
What does that really have to do with anything. I imagine these things are pretty well planned and fairly safe. Most of their work is identifying and calling in the border patrol. Any weapons are for self defense.... I cant imagine a Rambo moment needed. |
I guess if you have to ask, you should not think about going. If I want to spend time walking in the desert for the hell of it, I will keep going to my Utah trips. While you can go visit you cousin in Phoenix. bitch |

I'm not sure, but didn't they just award the two Illegals the ranch of the original person who started RR. Seems that he pointed a pistol at them and held them against their will. If I remember they took his ranch and gave it the the Mexicans. Any one else remembet this in the paper?

Ranch is signed over to 2 immigrants
The Associated Press Tucson, Arizona | Published: 01.26.2006 Two immigrants are now the legal owners of a Douglas-area ranch seized from an anti-immigrant activist. Documents granting the 70-acre ranch once owned by Casey Nethercott to Fatima del Socorro Leiva Medina and Edwin Alfredo Mancia Gonzales were signed by a Cochise County judge on Monday. Nethercott is serving a five-year prison term in Texas stemming from a 2003 incident on a Texas ranch where he confronted Leiva and Mancia and was accused of pistol-whipping them. He was acquitted of assault but convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Nethercott was a member of the group Ranch Rescue, which works to protect private property along the southern U.S. border. The Southern Poverty Law Center brought suit against Nethercott on behalf of the two immigrants. Nethercott did not respond and a Texas judge ordered him to pay $500,000. Also named in the suit were Jack Foote, the founder of Ranch Rescue and the owners of the Texas ranch, Joe and Betty Sutton. The Suttons settled for $100,000. Foote also didn't offer a defense and was ordered to pay $500,000. Leiva and Mancia were illegal immigrants from El Salvador. They received temporary legal status in the United States as crime victims and are seeking visas to stay longer. They don't plan to hold on to the ranch, said Kelley Bruner, an attorney for the Southern Poverty Law Center. Instead the property will be sold, with the proceeds going to the immigrants. |

"The illegals can go straight to Hell,
I am going to Texas!"--- Ohio-born Texas-bound kickin over my choices: RR or Minutemen ---Woodman-- (aka: "Uvalde Boy") |

In talking with one of the gentleman at the Denton Show, he had indicated that the border patrol typically asked himself and others in the MM if they are armed, and even went as far as to ask if more than just a CHL handgun was available, "just in case..." This guy also said the question was put to him "off the record."
Did he say this for entertainment value? Possible. |

Guys, I am with the Texas Minutmen. Note that we are not Ranch Rescue (we do not do any interdiction whatsoever), nor are we affiliated with the "Minuteman Civil Defense Corps."
I was with the TxMM . I was with the TxMM out east of El Paso during our October watch. The goal is to patrol up and down the road along the Rio "Trickle" (levee road) and to simply call back to our HQ whenever we saw suspicious activity (we had an excellent radio communication system setup). We also worked certain farmers land, during the day and at night. We did stationary night watches at locations known to be heavy for drug and immigrant smuggling (and who knows what else). Always "off the record," the Border Patrol rank and file were very very supportive of our efforts. Yes, we were armed. Sitting yourself in front of the path of armed drug cartels with the specific goal of upsetting their activities is not to be taken lightly. The Border Patrol (off the record) were adament that everyone has protection out there, preferably a semi auto long arm. However, their was no physical interdictions by us, just calling sightings in to the BP guys. The cartels and coyotes knew we were armed; something I dare say is a decent detterent to them from trying to do something to us... There is a ton to say, and I'd be happy to answer any questions people have on or offline. Know this: I would die for this country and what it stands for, and although I am not in the military I see protecting (and bringing political heat to the sellout politicians - which is in reality the main point of the TxMM) the borders as key to our nations' survival. If the Feds start a file on me because of it, fine. I'll live with that, but I can't live with doing nothing while we are overrun by non assimilating immigrants, to Islamic terrorists, to huge amounts of drugs, and so on ... In case people haven't realized, the time to do nothing has passed. |

Thank you 75273 for your volunteer work!
I would volunteer in a second. I personally know 2 other guys that have volunteered for with the Minutemen. Great guys and they both spoke very highly of the organization. About the illegal immigration issue: The politicians, whether it be State or Federal, will do NOTHING until this becomes a hot political issue. That means getting the issue on the TV every day, with interviews of VOTERS expressing anger over the gubmint's total lack of effort. Have you called and written your Congressman and Senators? Every week? CMOS |
Thanks 75273, I highlighted this for a certain idiot who needs to read it again. |
THAT would be the very best ARFCOM get-together EVER. Someone want to get the ball rolling? CMOS |
Woot! Camping trip! |
Could you imagine an ARFCom shoot along the border? I bet that would get the ball rolling with the politicians

Guys, I would love to be the ARFCOM point of contact in getting together some more people for our April border patrol. The more people the better.
The basics are that the TxMinutemen will be in the Fabens, Tx area (about 20 miles east of El Paso on highway 10) for the entire month. From Fabens (you can stay where you want, but our HQ will be based there), we schedule out everyone to different parts of the coverage zone. Be it a farmer's land, a part of the levee road itself along the Rio Trickle, and often specific points along the border that we know are hot spots for crossings. The basic idea is you call back to HQ over the radio to report anything, and they pass it on to BP. Yes, check out --> http://www.txminuteman.org/ and especially the Volunteer Form. Whether you can come for one day, one week or the full month, the more the merrier. Remember this is more a political protest than anything else, so please no one that wants to start anything.. we need good press, not bad. The ACLU and La Raza like to hang out there and be little shits trying to instigate, and most of the news media is against us. So serious guys only, though we do have a lot of fun out there. It's some great comraderie to be with people with such strong, and similar beliefs. Use the volunteer form on the site. There is a contact page for asking any specific questions you may have (or ask me). Background checks are done on everyone that does not have a CHL... |
BTW: You don't need to be a young, mobile, piss-n-vinegar guy to do this. We have plenty of old timers of the sit in a lawn chair with binoculars variety. We have quite a few women that have come on out, as well. All our welcome, and atleast half the people out there are retirees, many former cops, former military, etc.. Don't feel you need to be Navy Seal materal to come help.
Of course, if you are a Navy Seal, please come! I'd love to get some survival tips. |
Taking the man's land and giving it to anyone here illegally is outrageous! I've been writing Senators John Cornyn and Kay Bailey-Hutchison, my Congressman Sam Johnson and Governor Rick Perry about this incursion issue. I'm of the belief now that it is by design. Our forefathers would take us all to the woodshed if they were alive. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for people immigrating here the legal way. When people come here illegally, are given free medical and welfare, AND get to go to college free if they want while us citiizen's are paying for it, I don't understand why this is allowed ESPECIALLY when the minutemen have been on the borders of several states and brought the problem to national attention. IT IS FLAT WRONG, and I agree with 75273: the time to do nothing has passed. If we don't get a fire lit under our governments butts, we will lose our nation. I'm a Navy vet, what the hell did I stand a watch for? This chaps my ass! |
I guess for those of us who don't have our CHL's yet (mine's in the pipeline right now), should we wait? I do have other means of protection though...
It's a serious question, I wouldn't go anywhere near that area if I wasn't able to have something that I could defend myself with. |
Its certainly bad news down there.
Did anyone else read about these scumbags threating the LEO's family and livelyhood ?? It discussed me that they feel they can get away with that shit in our country but it happens everyday with gangs deep in the heartland and lets not forget its gone back to the beginning of organized crime in the 20's. I would have all kinds of SHTF ready to rock and roll. |
No, I didn't hear....have a link to view? |
I just posted an article out of the Austin paper in the "Mex military" thread above.
As for volunteering, no, I won't. I'd rather not sit in an OP and potentially be a sitting duck. If the .gov isn't going to even back up the LE in Hudspeth County, then the sheriff needs to deputize a posse, so we can go and hand the Mexicans their ass when the cross the next time. The time for observing and reporting is over. It's personal now. |
The time for observing is over.....it's personal now???? Besides deputizing a "posse" what else would you recommend... |
Well,
I would like to see President Bush meet with Vicente Fox and remind him that the Rio Grande is a international border, and its integrity will be defended by US troops if Fox doesn't get off his butt and get control of his country. Put US troops on the border. Issue orders that anyone seen crossing the border under arms or in any military uniform of Mexico or another nation will be fired upon. If Mexican troops are assisting the cartels then Mexico should feel bad when we fire them up. If those guys are nothing but cartel members dressed up as Mexican troops, then Mexico shouldn't feel bad about us putting spies to death. (note: in time of war, those who wear military uniforms of a friendly nation in order to conduct operations can be tried for espionage and executed). Issue orders that all civilians seen crossing the border under arms will be regarded as hostile and fired upon. Any civilians seen crossing the border unarmed will be detained, fingerprinted, photgraphed and escorted back across the border. But that's just me. By personal, I mean that police do their jobs every day knowing that the badguys out there may try to kill them. However, when the badguys threaten families of those LE, and bring women and children into it, it's time to hoist the black flag and offer no quarter. |
Well, I'll stand by what I said. It is PAST TIME to do something. By the time you realize you've lost your country, it's gone. We need to do this now. It gets more and more difficult and costly to us all to do it later. When will one determine it is time? After a city is vaporized, or after you find yourself in prison for a hate crime by merely saying "Islam is such and such..." Look to history and you will realize it is past time.
You don't need a CHL to be out along the border with the Texas Minutemen. We never stray too far from our trucks while out there. While it is not terribly sensible to carry a long arm around in broad daylight (not b/c it is illegal per se, but b/c you may appear on an ACLU slideshow on NBC the next damn day!), you will not be far from one since your vehicle won't be far off. There's plenty of private land out there we work on, as well, and we have permission to be on that land ... Remember the whole point of the civilian border patrol is to bring public opinion onto this topic so the politicians will do something! They never do much of anything, good or bad, unless the people scream for it.. Also, I have personally spoken with ranchers out there that have said the cartels have threatened their lives (and their family's lives) if they get in the way. As such, I have no link.. but I've heard the sheriffs are getting the threats to.. Beware "deputization" as you are agreeing to their rules. It may be done in a way meant to control you ... as of today, we have the 'freedom to peaceably assemble" and freedom to have personal protection out there. Don't think being a cop gives you any type of legal protection. Our own military get court martialed for firing 7 bullets when some dipshit in DC says 6 would have been enough .. |
