Who would be up for a machine gun shoot the weekend of May 19-21, 2006, sort of a way to say "Thanks for 20 years" (sarcastically) to the anti's for the '86 FOPA (Firearms Owner's Protection Act) which banned the civilian possession of newly-manufactured machine guns? Possibly at Tom Bean or Sanger or TacPro or Tiger Valley? Just thinking aloud...

Would be nice...a big suggestion would be a static firing line.
A static line allows those with a few toys to actually setup a table, canopy, chairs etc... Access by vehicles should be considered. Ammo is heavy, especially 8mm. Also, it allows those w/ belt guns to setup and not worry about taking them down... Much like bulletfest. |
Machine guns are for terrorists and FBI agents that are pissed because they missed Waco.
I'm in. |
what if you dont own machine guns? I hate going to the range by myself....... I would like to go with other people.
You must pre-qualify a bump firing certification... of 30 rounds continuous from the hip and shoulder.... and must bring 1000 rounds of ammo, minimum.... half of which you will donate to the "real" machinegun owners. |
i can pre qualify ---
i bump with ease from the shoulder and hip. rate of fire is on par with the ''real'' boys. for 1/100th of the cost. he he. about donating my ammo? i sell yas some.... |
So I take it you will also be donating 500rds minimum to the "real" machine gun owners!? |

Big Mac attack.... |
DAMN STRAIGHT! Cool saying... Hmmm.... Suppressed 147gr Winchester USA, 50rd mag Unsuppressed CCI Blazer, 32/38rd mag (forget how many was loaded, and I don't feel like counting the shots...) |
Last time I was shooting a Mac with a collapsible stock, my hand rode up too high, hit the button to collapse the stock and it whacked me in the face.
Bring some 7.62x39 and some 8mm and I might let you try a "real" machinegun... |
Hey, at least its a start... ok, will try and get more ammo that I don't have guns for... depending on how bad I get hit this year on my tax return... I just bought a shitload of ammo recently! AR47.... 7.62x39.... (what else you got?) What's the 8mm for? |
For his M16... |
saw them at Tom Bean, but there was so much going on-- I really want to check out one of your guys' 10-22 autos... I'll bring my 50rd mags...
Brian just emailed a new video w/ slow fire mod....seemed closer to 6-700 rpm.... |
You can load mags and belts.... |
Are lowly M16s invited, or do you have to have something that requires a trailer hitch to move?
I want to come.....but no class III or knowledge of bump fire....
But I do have some Tannerite!!!!! |
How can you be in? You don't even own a machine gun yourself.
Yes, of course, because you do own a machine yourself. But you would be welcome anyway.
Absolutely, this is just another excuse to get together and put lots of lead downrange.
It's a machine gun, right?
Tannerite gets you free admission. But seriously, this is just another excuse to have a gathering and shoot. And a machine gun shoot on Friday, May 19, 2006, would be a perfect way to get back at the anti's in our own little way for the '86 FOPA. Seems we have enough interest to hold a shoot, now we just need to vote on a venue. Poll added. |

hrt4me-
Good range options, just some casual observations: Tom Bean - Short range, very limited berm, group size can be an issue Tiger Valley - Good size, several bays for shooting so it's not as crowded. Not great for setting up tables and canopy's ala bulletfest Sanger - short range, C3 range in a gulley...can be an issue in the event of rain...can get crowded quickly...more remote than Tom Bean Tac Pro - never shot there, care to elaborate on range setup? Hun farm- It's the farm....biggest problem is the drive, especially for the south Texas crew.... |
For MG shoots and safety issue, I think TV or TacPro is the best. I prefer TV because: 1. Centrally located (in a way). 2. We have a good rapport with TJ. TV is better than TacPro on almost everything, except one: At Tacpro, people can shoot 1K range while others shoot their 100, 200, subguns, handguns.....all at the same time. |
I will call TJ and get his thoughts on hosting this at Tiger Valley on Friday, May 19, 2006. I checked the Tiger Valley schedule and they already have a 3-gun match that weekend, May 20-21, 2006, so what better reason to go down to Tiger Valley and celebrate our freedoms and shoot in a 3-gun match and the same weekend.

My only requirements are:
1) Safe environment... 2) I can back my vehicle up to the line....unless Mojo's willing to carry cases of 8mm and 308 to the line for me...Each case of 8mm weighs 55lbs. Distance and reactive targets are a plus... |
Sure....Been doing manual labor all my life. BTW, we have always driven into and parked and unloaded our stuff at those bays all the time. |
Got any pics? was it automatic? |
Now, just need Mojo to move the cases into the mule! Seriously, I know we did not park cars near the bays at the first gunstock....must have been the mud. If we can park @ the bays then no problem. |
BTW...just occured to me. You need a pintle mount for that mule.... Then we can run and gun!! |
Oh yeah! And I know just the machinist who can do it! |
I was thinking about your ride when frisco was concerned about carrying all his toys and ammo. |
He has got more belt guns "on order" than anyone I have ever known. if they ever come in, we will need the truck to haul them. But for now, the Polaris will suffice. |
It looks like frisco is another of my long-lost brothers. BTW....Are these for M16 lower? |
Just call me a first class sucker... |
Where is the Hun farm? Dallas/Fort Worth area?
I would've made the drive last year but it was smack dab in the middle of finals... |
3 hours northwest of DFW |
Fixed it with a realistic answer for ya. |
Not everybody drives like TXLewis... |
going the speed limit, it is exactly 3 hours from my house in McKinney, so using Decatur as a hub from DFW, if you are about 60 minutes from Decatur it will take 3 hours total to get to the farm eta: just googled the path - it says 1:01 to Decatur and 2:30 to the farm, so maybe the speed limits are not updated on google or I go over the posted limit just a tad.... (hey, that is only prima facie evidence of speeding in TX) |
