Anyone wanna go. I will be there testing some loads at 100. Then moving to 300 for some Wrist Rocket practice.

I'm spoiled now,  man.  that place sucks on the weekends.  I went yesterday and there was 10 total shooters.  it was great.

Yeah Tim, I'll plan to be there with a pair of bolt guns and factory loads that I hunt with; hopefuly y'all can help me out a bit with stretching their range....maybe even getting a qual card for the longer stuff?

Do you guys know if they provide spotting scopes for the 200 yard area?

Not really. But if you have a good scope 10x and better and shoots a bigger hole than the .223. You can spot your self.

I am shooting 223, and I don't have a scope...
My spotting scope is on backorder hinking.gif
Guess I'll just wait till it comes in before I shoot at that range.

Thanks for the info.

A few of us have spotting scopes you can use. I might be able to spot for you using my scope.

No, but they will give you a loner (if they have any left) when you pay.  You just have to give them your DL, tell then you are headed to 200, and they loan you one.  They are nothing great, but will probably work.

Weather permitting, I will be back down at 600 again.  If it is very windy, probably be at 200 firefroming some new brass...

The winds are forecast to be light and primarily from the North....should be pretty favorable conditions.

sorry you all. but I do have a nice XOTIC USS scope on the way in replacement for my BL scope.

Ask at the desk when you pay they had some.  You may have to leave you DL at the desk

Anyone gonna have a Chrono there? I would like some readings to verify a load.

Also Volder Mor**. How did you get that scope. I was under the impression it is not on the market due to a redesign...

oh a little this and that.......

well I'm trading the BL straight up for it through Chris Farris at swfa. Called him up yesterday about it and he said yes.

Prolly buy the redesign too if I like this one enough.

Indeed, it was nice meeting you as well, Mark....those were some damn nice groups that you were printing!

Unfortunately, by the time we visited, the 7lb10oz .30-06 had taken its toll on my ability to hit anything smaller than a barn.

Thanks also to Tim for the difficult spotting, particularly considering the mirage and my poor marksmanship.

Hopefully, I will be within MOD this coming week.

Thanks for the kind words.  Here is a pic of the group the guys are referring to, it was shot at 600 yards, F-class style, with my 6.5 Grendel F-class rifle:

WalkerTexasRanger, do you have a pic of your F-Class?  I would love to see it.  Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to go out this weekend, wife had me working to clean our garage..

I've got some .308 168grn Sierra match kingloads I need to compare to some 175s at 600.  I might try to get out there this Saturday.  I need to zero my rifle though cause I bedded it and have not shot it since.

How many MOA's do you need from 300 to 600?

I might come and join you guys this weekend, have some more 175's to try.

For the 168's with a 100 yard zero (about 2650 for velocity), I need 5.25 MOA at 300 and 16.5 MOA at 600.

For the 175's, with a 100 yard zero (about 2600 for velocity), I need again 5.25 MOA at 300 and almost 17 MOA at 600.\

ETA---->175 data is theoretical as I have not shot the 175's at 600 yards.

Tim - here is an online ballistics calculator.  It is pretty simple and was within 1/2 MOA with its projections of what I actually used.  Close enough to get you on the paper and go from there...

www.eskimo.com/~jbm/ballistics/traj_basic/traj_basic.html

If the weather cooperates, I will probably go back out next weekend.  That is unless I feel the need to browse at the big gun show down @ Reliant.  Choices are good

Yo Ranger, I have a few links to those, but since my gun didnt function 100%, I wasnt able to get any velocity data from the guy next to us with the Chrono.
