Hello,

I just flew back home to  Houston last night, will be here for about one week, and I might not be able to make it to the HGCA show and was wondering if anybody could tell me where I could get a one piece gas ring.

Thanks,

Marco

I was wondering if a place in Houston had it.  I'm only here for a week and I have a lot of shooting to do.

Guys,
That was one of the best gun shows I have seen in Houston in recent years. A lot of hard-to-find items I have been looking for were to be found at reasonable prices.

i couldn't find crap.  all i came home with was a couple AK mags and a bulgarian stock set.  I was hoping to come across some ammo,  and some jackass tried to sell me a 1000ct of wolf for $200

1st row or the East wall. When you walk in the front, take a right go the the wall, I'm about half way down the aisle. Look for the tall blue flag with Wilson Combat on it.

It was good to meet you in person today roseco.  Boy the show was crowded today, hope you did well.

this followed me home after I sold my AR.  The wood looks like crap because the seller had painted it black and I have spent the night stripping the paint and trying to polish the wood.  Otherwise, it's in perfect condition.

I didn't find a damn thing there.  Sure seems like that show is getting smaller and smaller.  Hell, Docs wasn't even there.

It was good to meet the folks from Holland Gunworks - nice people!!

The one dealer that I was looking for still hadn't shown up to their tables by noon.  They were supposed to be set up next to robbie and across from Holland.  Anyone know if Lone Star Ordnance ever showed?  I had a wish list that I was hoping to fill with them, but I couldn't wait around all day, as my boss and I had plenty left to do.

Howard,
Bruce Lambert (Lone Star) was late getting there , but he showed up. LMK what was on your wish list and we might be able to tell you who had it.

Yeah, other than my new toy, I was pretty dissapointed with the show.  I thought the normal ammo vendors would be there.

I've seen better shows.  The're just not like they used to be.

Still, I renewed by NRA membership for 10. less and got into the show free because of it.

A SIG CPO P226 did follow me home though.

That rifle looks 200% better than it did when I saw it.

Roseco- thanks for the lowers.

Mark, and ALL,

The decision to allow ammo at the show came very late in the vendor registration timeframe.  The next HGCA should have a full compliment of ammo vendros as there will have been ample time to get the word out.

My Para Ord puked at the IPSC match Saturday morning.  I drove straight up to Reliant and gave it to Ed Vandenburg for a 50,000 mile tune up.  Then did a quick walk thru before it closed.

Since I only live about 1 1/2 miles away, I went back yesterday.  Took some cowboy guns to sell. I turned them into a pair of Glocks.  A G17 and a G34 with the OD frames.

Robbie and Doug were both busy everytime I went by.  Hope you guys had a good show.

Robbie....A guy I met at PSC was looking to buy some Wilson mags...I E mailed him your contact info this morning.    Rick

It appears some of the dealers that frequented the former Great Western Show are trying to find new markets to peddle their wares. Plenty of Remchesters around.

I'm just concerned that TomHighway might not of found any ammo.

I was a little disappointed in the show as well.  It's not as good as when it was at the Astrohall.  That being said, a Beretta M9 followed me home yesterday.

Yeah, I picked up a SIG CPO P229 in 357 SIG.  I was headed out of town later in the day and didn't get a chance to shoot it yet though.

Robbie, I stopped by your table but you were swamped with customers.  Hope you did well.

It was a decent show, just sucks when you have to go to a fun show on a time schedule.  Had to be in and out, and find what I wanted within a certain amount of time, probably missed a few good deals.  I did pick up part of Fallshirmjager smock/poncho, although I question it's authenticity, still not bad for $25.  If it is part of an authentic smock, I got the deal of the century.

The show sucked, at least for the stuff I was looking for.  Some examples:
Colt 6920 $1495 + tax
Colt 6450 $1095 + tax
Glocks - $449-499
Sigs prices went up
Box of 50 Winschester White Box 9mm- $6.95.  (hell, Academy has 'em for $4.86/box).

It was a seller's show.  For now, I will purchase via internet and this site.

the price on the 6450 was fair, usually about $1k on the net plus ffl fees but you dont have to wait.
