John, hello.
This sounds like an opportunity, but I can't get the link you referred to to work. Can you fix it for me? You going to be at Market Hall TG wknd? shooter100 |
Made the link hot.. Yes I will be there this weekend, early Saturday. I was going to try and get a table if one is available or go in with someone if they have one. As it looks the tannerite is going so fast I may not need to get a table. Let me know if you have any other questions about the armor course |
Will this course be over the head of guys who shoot but don't do much work on their weapon?
IMHO I would think it would be right up their alley.. Go to the link at the start of the thread and you can read about it. It seems that it would bring things that are in question to a clearer understanding. Please feel free to contact with further questions. Thanks John |

Where will this be held? I thought I saw the location somewhere but can't seem to dig it out. Thanks, Tom S.

We are bringing several instructors. All will get lots of personal attention and assistance during this course. We are used to very large groups. I think we are keeping the size on this course to around 20 attendees. So no fear as to not being properly taken care of!!!

Sully, thanks for the clarification I knew you would take care of things. I have looked forward to this course since Oct when Arrowhead and I begun to plan it out. John |

Hey Sully, what if anything do we need to bring with us tool or weapon wise?
I took the Glock Armorer Course years ago, and they provided weapons and the entire tool kit . Thanks. |
We provide all tools for this course. We will show the basics of what is minimally needed, and we will also provide lots of the tricky gunsmith tools that make life a whole lot easier. We will provide rifles with prior arrangements, we prefer that people bring their own. The reason we prefer that people work on their own is so that they get to know their personal configuration as there are so many different accessories and SOPMOD stuff available, plus do a full break down for inspection and cleaning, and replace anything that is worn or damaged.
And nobody needs to go watch the movie Fargo to learn to speak Minnesotan, as I don't speak it either. I do have one request though, a few fine meals of some real Texas BBQ and maybe some real Mexican food would be in order. Maybe a get together for those that are interested. The last few times I have been in Texas we not only had some good Mexican food, but your Texas BBQ is great stuff!!! Our Minnesota version of Mexican food is Taco Bell. I will be bringing some of our rifles & gear for show and tell. If anyone wishes to try a specific model, or wants any gear let us know so we can bring it. Thx in advance, Leonard |

There are several along US 380, I dont have name and numbers but there are no events in the area so there should be some available rooms, most are west of the BackWoods traps. IM me if you have any other questions. See you there. |

Days Inn, $57 for a room w/ King or 2 Dbls. Probably the least expensive. The rest probably rent by the hour... if that is what you are looking for...
See you there... Leonard |
OK...final list shows 23 signed up.
Remember... starting 2/23/06... call 817 455 6135 to get added to the list. We can add another 7 people. Original post: www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=8&f=8&t=215207 Be safe, Leonard |

We are in Frisco. I must say the highway marking versus Mapquest is interesting. We should be at BackWoods Traps around 0700hrs or slightly before to get set up. Don't forget class starts at 0800hrs. Sometime while we are here we need to get some good Mexican food, as the Minnesota version is bad.

Another knowledge filled day..
Thanks again Sully and Paul, excellent job ! Have a safe trip home. Guys who took the course please post your feed back here, suggestions for adds or changes in the class. Thanks John |

Excellent Class! Many Thanks to Sully and Paul.
Does anyone know what are the tools/drivers called that we used to drive the pins back in....the ones with the tiny tips... and drive them flush to the surface? They are not flat like the ones that drive them out. Where can I find them? What sizes do I need for the AR? We basically only used two sizes during the course..right? 1/16 and 5/32 Head spaces guages..was it Forester or Clymer? Mil-Spec. Where is the best place to get mil spec parts? (Barrell Nut) I wish I had spare springs and retainer pins like Sully. I've viewed some kits offered in Brownells but it seems to be too much. I have a Brownell Catalog and found most of the tools suggested in class. Sorry I didn't take notes. I noticed someone in class was writing everything down... |
I believe that the sizes were but ?I could be wrong:
1/16 flat punch 3/32 flat punch 3/32 roll pin punch 1/8 roll pin punch I do recall that one punch was preferably 5/64 but I can't remember what it was for. Maybe the bolt catch release? If so, it also has to be long enough to reach. Randall Oh, yea... It was a killer class. Sully is a very good instructor and if this course is any indication of what his other courses are like, I'll definitely try and attend others when they're offered in the south. |
