Hopefully we can get a sticky for this.
All members from Texas or Louisiana that may be affected by hurricane Rita please sign in with member name and location and try to sign back in ASAP after the the storm passes. Maybe we can keep track of each other and make sure everyone is okay. And if help is needed we might be able to help each other. I did not see this in any of the other forums. I hope it's not a dupe. I will also post this in the Texas forum. Good luck all. MikeS369 Lafayette LA ETA, I will be checking in from time to time to add people to a list I am keeping here at home. I'll keep checking for as long as I can, electricity permitting. After this monster passes and I am able to get back online, I will list all members who answered the call. Once people are able to check in again I will add C/I (checked in) and something like "okay" after their usename. If we have not heard from someone I will add, D/K (don't know) after their username. If someone else is able to get online before me, feel free to create the list. Stay safe everyone and good luck. Mike ETA, Alright, I finally got power! Here's the list of those that checked in before Rita made landfall. Please re-check in ASAP. Happy to hear everyone that has checked in so far is okay. Westcreek also. A few small tree limb s down, nothing major. |

|
Ditto that...not even any big limbs, but hey thats a good thing Went to check the status of a couple local gas stations and the 290 traffic is going to be a pain. It is somewhat bumper to bumper but flowing...I bet in about 2 hours it will be stop and go. Tonster |
|

Just got back from driving down to my apartment complex. There is more freeway traffic than anytime yesterday. 288 south has a couple cars every 50 yards or so now, while the south beltway eastbound looks like most weekday mornings. Everyone is moving along at 60+. Almeda Genoa is closed due to a large tree fall between MLK and Cullen. Everything else I saw was wide open, no flooding, even the bayous are still pretty empty. None were more than 1/4 full. Power is still out at the complex but everything is quiet. Not real damage, just some branches and a fence that blew over. Keep in mind it was an old rotten wooden fence!!
Photos coming on my photo thread.... www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=8&f=8&t=210715&page=2 |

Murderman reporting in from Cypress - pretty much the same as Tony, Todd, and Eklik.....no damage whatsoever. The power went out at 0500, but the generator is up and running now[didn't get the chance to get it all pre-rigged due to the late return from N.O.]. Power is on a few blocks East of here.
Spoke with various family this AM: Abbeville, LA - beaucoup rain, some shingles missing from their home, one sheet of tin torn from the barn, many trees down, power out since 0100. Gonzales, LA - beaucoup rain, minimal wind damage, no power outage. Algiers, LA - beaucoup rain, no wind damage, flooding in other parts of N.O., no power outage. It looks like we were pretty lucky; I hope everybody else fared equally well. |
|
ClayP checking in, Spring Valley/Memorial area. Barely any damage, few small branches and just leaves. No house damage at all. I evac'ed Thurs am 9 hours trek to Ft Worth, and returned in 6 hours today.
