What happened?
Whose wheaties got pissed on? Whose panties got wadded up? I was there this year and it seemed like everything went well. |
its on for oct 7,8,9, just not called gunstock anymore (formally)
Reason for the new moniker? Inquiring minds wish to know.... |
something about some monkeymounters having the name before us...................i think its all spelled out in the gunstock forum |
It did go well, but when you have 'organizers' spread across the continent, it is a little difficult to coordiante the event. I am not certain, but I think it was decided that the Tiger Vally Staff would have an easier time organizing the event. No bad blood, just a simplified process of organization. TRG |
why not try the name Blackstock then? LOL for the black gun that we all have!
Just don't schedule it for the wrong part of town as we will not LIL' Bow Wow there. |
That is OU/TEXAS weekend in Dallas. |
Either gonna be the first or 2nd week of Bow season also I bet .
no joke, GO SOONERS!! |
we're trying to weed out all the 'undesireables' that would rather watch football than eat bbq, shoot and drink mass quantities of alcoholic beverages in excellent company.......................
Sounds like a similar weekend, just trade shooting for football....
Fortunatly, I can shoot every weekend. Unfortunatly, OU/TEXAS is once a year. Boomer Sooner!!! (I will add, losing 11 players to the NFL draft has the making of a no-so-fun weekend in Dallas for us Sooner fans) |
Damn! OU/Texas weekend again?
Who fucked up again this time? I will be watching the game. j/k I'll be listening to the game on the radio with machine gun fire in the back ground. OU will have a bad year since all the starters are gone. Texas may even beat them this year after 5 years of straight losses to the Sooners. |
what the hell is this! All you Boom Your Momma dudes in a TEXAS room? is I-35 tore up again and you don't know how to get home? Try mapquest for an alternative route!
Yep. |
It did go well (except for shirts), but attendance was much lower than Gunstock 2003. |
Not sure where this legend got started, but attendance was actually similar for both years. |
I was standing next to one of the owners when he said it. Maybe he meant pre-registrations or something else. It also seemed like a lot less to me, based on cars parked, food line, people I know who went to first one but not second, etc. Glad to here it was actually well attended. |
The early pre-reg numbers were lower, but ended up improving once it got closer to event time. I also think there were a few more migratory attendees in '04 than there were in '03 - more people who came for just one day rather than all three. |
That about says it all. The Avilas's in NY. I was in between CA and TX last few months now residing in LA. Mrs Gloftoe in Austin. 1gunrunner in WA. And the rest of the organizers in DFW. It was a bit difficult to coordinate. |
5 years in a row. I'd be upset if I was you as well. |
I'm trying to see if I can find someone in the houston area to hitch a ride with for gunstock 05 over in garland.
So you trade getting out of the house and enjoying yourself by doing something v.s. sitting on the duff to watch a semi-pro football game and getting pizzed off that OU makes it 6 in a row over MetroSexual High School. |
You'll be awfully lonely in Garland. |
Let's please not go through that in this forum too. |
you can read the highjacked locked thread in cav arm form . sorry den mother I will not said any more about it in here
Thank you hon. |
Nice locked thread. Aomeone got their panties in a wad I see.
Anyway, Seems like We are having gunstock, but it won't be called gunstock, and it will have more shooting. Cool. |
Nooooooot exactly! Having decided last year that it was too much work for the few people that end up doing it (TX crew) and the unpredictability of the turn out because a lot of people seem to wait til the last moment,we decided not to hold Gunstock every year. The TX crew wanted to get together anyway,so they put together a "smaller" shoot with our friends at Tiger Valley hosting. It is very difficult to put together something for a larger crowd that requires vendors (vendors want to know how many will be attending),food catering,T-shirts,tents,etc without knowing approximately how many are planning on showing up. |

EdSr promotes himself as Cuban. But, he is the only Cuban I have ever met that gets sick from smoking cigars. LOL TRG |
At least he's not a pole-smoker! Geez you make it so Easy!!!!! |

The Avila's have been great about hosting this event for the last two years. Needless to say that much worry also went with that. Tents, vendors, t-shirts food all had to be delt with. They had help, but not knowing if the ball was getting dropped must have caused many a sleepless night. It was an AR-15.com event, good or bad and they wanted it to work. Having talked to everyone after the event and knowing that the Avila's were wanting a break, I offered to host an event for the AR-15 group. John and I enjoy have the group at our facility and want to do everything we can to make it a good time. I hope that all the Avila's can slip away and drink a beer with us, they are the best...

With you guys?...............................Anytime....anywhere! I hope john is either back,or will be home soon! |

Hell, I met Okguy91, I liked the hell out of him. I am good friends with CavArms' Crew as well. I hope to see them both at the event. Always concerns me to see two groups of friends disagree. TRG |

In defense of TexRdnec - he personally objected to the severe amount of alcohol spillage induced by the maniac driver of the truck (Ranger8541?). I dunno. Could have been TRG as well. Either way, the driver was a nutcase. I thought he was jumping into the cab to give them a piece of his mind, but now it looks like there could have been some ghey overtones to his head being in the backseater's lap. Thinking about it - he was in that position an awfully long time.... |
I may come down In 2005 . Maybe the cav arms guys where just stressed out and I read them wrong.
I was in the backseat. |
I guess when friend #1 negligence/incompetence nearly sends a 5.56 round through the gut of friend #2, not much you can do about their mutual friendship. |
Maybe we can try with paintballs this time instead!!! Or how about airsoft, I hear that's the latest rage. Which team are you on, red or blue? |
