so what you want?
carters and academy have post ban bushmasters.

you get the best deal at gun shows  
you can get a stripped lower from a gun show for 120.00 parts kit for 50.00  butt stock for 40-100.00 or you can get a fully assembled lower for about 250.00
gun show uppers run 350.00 and up plus bolt for 100.00 and up.
so you can buy the parts for about 650.00-700.00
the houston crew will help you put it together.

Order a stripped lower from the manufacturer of your choice.  Have the lower shipped to a FFL for transfer to you.

Order a parts kit from one of the many companies in Shotgun News magazine.  Pick a kit with all of the features you want.  Have it sent to you.

WHen the receiver comes in, acquire it from your FFL and assemble the kit. If you can't assemble the kit, either find a friend who can or have a local gunsmith assemble it.  Most kits are easy to assemble;  the hardest part is installing the pins.

If you build your own rifle this way, you will have a nice custom gun and save a ton of money.
Receivers run around $75 to 150 bucks.  Complete CAR-15 type parts kits are  around $425.00.
