.... doesn't give a shit about professional sports?  The Astros lost, big freaking deal.  I bet the owner is setting back just laughing his ass off about how much money he's made in the last month on ticket sales and merchandise.  I just don't understand how folks can waste their time watching sports on the tube when there are guns to shot, 4wheelers to be rode, fish to be caught, and deer to be hunted.  To all of ya'll that are depressed over the Astro's loss, don't worry too much about it, the sun will rise today.

+1.  My friends can't understand when I don't care about the Cowboys. They quote all the stats of every player, plan trades and so on. Sports, opium of the masses.. fullclip

I prefer to see it in person or listen to the radio, The sun did rise and it was beautiful as always.  Sports makes a nice distraction from the shitty prospects of a Kerry Regime.

twistedcomrade, my wife wanted to watch the game in the bedroom last night, so I got up and went into the living room to read my book.  I enjoy going to the ball park for the experience, but getting wrapped up in professional sports serves no useful purpose I can find....  If people enjoy it, good for them, but it just isn't my thing.

The only sports I enjoy are the ones I play or coach myself, or the ones my kids are playing.  Pro sports do very little for me.

Remember the Alamo, and God Bless Texas...

You're not alone... I really don't give a hoot about pro or college sports.  The only time I was into anything was back in the early 90s when the Chicago Bulls were at their peak with Jordan and the crew.  My best friend at the time, and his father, were from the Chicago area, so I got it from them.

Now I don't have any favorites, and I don't watch any games.  I couldn't care less.

No you are not the only one. I have never been to a professional sports game. Sometimes I think that is a shame since there are so many nice venues here in Houston.

You know, I'd like to see officially approved races on the highways.
I was thinking about that several months ago, if I was King of Austin.
Every Saturday night at 6pm, block all onramps to Hwy 183.  Start the Race at FM 620 and go all the way to Cameron Road, turn around and come back to FM620.  Whoever gets back first wins.
That would be fucking awesome.
Ditto on Pat Tillman.

What about 2222...on a bike (real bike, not that HD smack)

Same thoughts here for Pro Sports.  Most pro athletes are over-paid, spoiled, felonious pieces of shit.  I don't give a hoot in hell about them or their kind.

I do enjoy College Football - think that is the last level where at least some of the players are still in it for love of the game.

Much rather go to the range with my kids and watch my boys shoot an Uzi or M16 than sit in front of a TV and watch genetic mutants chase a ball.

I don't care for any sports that I am not DIRECTLY active in,  I hunt, and fish and that's about it.

That last time I sat and watch any sports on TV was back when Mickey Rivers and Buddy Bell played for the Rangers, My favorite team as a kid.

I was actually pretty active in High School sports, and have Run the White Rock Marathon twice.

I just dont get excited watching any sports, and wouldn't give 2 squirts of piss to go see ANY professional athlete......

We're not depressed. We just like to bitch or gloat (depending loss or win).

You think we take it seriously, but, I always say this:

"In the department store of life, sports is the Toy section"

Hmmm there seems to be a correlation between liking guns and not liking sports.

No there isn't I like sports and I like guns. So, sorry dude, you are off track.

Now, I watch home teams play, and rarely care for others, so I guess I'm not a fanatic.

I DO NO watch College Basketball, or College Baseball unless a home team is involved in the playoffs.

I think it depends upon how you grew up. I grew up playing and watching baseball, and hunting, and fishing, and playing football.

Why is it bothering all of you?

It really don't bother most of us. At my work some of us get together on Monday mornings and make fun of the ones who are depressed over thier favorite teams loss. Kind of like kicking them when they are down. A non-contact sport if you will.. fullclip
