I have done this with a 2300 lb safe. It is not that hard, but it is expensive if you pay someone else to do it. You can rent a pallet jack (a narrow one if your doors are narrow) and a fork lift. This isn't really that much money and two people can move the biggest safe. After you move it, get another fork lift and pallet jack and repeat. A Johnson bar can be rented too, if necessary.
Smaller safes can be moved on piano dolleys and/or a stout refrigerator dolly.
A tow truck won't fit inside your house, and the driver will have no interest in moving a safe.
You could call a shorer. $150 per hour, three hour minimum. They WILL get it done.
A 500 lb safe is small. piano dolleys and an engine hoist, along with a small pickup will be all you need.
Bribe a helper with pie.
