Are there any public ranges at Ft Hood? How are they? and is there a problem these days to get on base with a firearm?

CB1 , I recently asked my local FFL dealer here[who is also a Service Rifle shooter] about that. He said that it is a real hassle now to go on post to shoot with all the security now. You have to go to the Rod and Gun club and register all your weapons, plus have to go through the "search" every time you go. They use a range in Temple. Haven't checked out the new range in Florence yet, but it sounds like the best bet around here. And Tiger Valley isn't really that far

Yep CB1, Seems like a waste of space to me too  LOL.I shot out there years ago ,and it is a nice range. The ROs are real hardasses when it comes to safety.Deer season is about to open also, and the rules have really changed for the hunters out there.Gonna be a lot less hunters  this year
