Bargain hunting for a new vehicle?
County: From cars to trucks to cycles, Sheriff's Office will auction it off this Friday

Looking for a vehicle at a reasonable price? The Harrison County Sheriff's Department got a deal for you.

Some 35 vehicles, ranging from a Harley-Davidson motorcycle to a Ford Thunderbird, will be up for bid at the sheriff's annual auction, scheduled at 8 a.m. Friday on North Callum Street.

According to Peggy Huffman, civil clerk at the sheriff's department, the vehicles are those which have been abandoned and left for at least 72 hours on the roadside before being towed.

Vehicles include in this sale are: 1988 Oldsmobile Toronado; 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass; 1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass; 1986 Nissan 200 SX; 1992 Mitsubishi Galant; 1986 Dodge Ram pick-up; 1992 Geo Prizm; and a 1983 Mercury Cougar.

Also, 1992 Chevrolet Corsica; 1989 Chevrolet van; 1991 Lincoln Continental; 1987 Chevrolet Corsica; 1993 Ford Escort; 1984 Ford van; 1987 Nissan four-door sedan; 1984 Chevrolet Impala; 1989 Buick Reatta; 1978 Chevrolet pick-up and 1988 Chevrolet Cavalier.

Additionally, a 1990 Chevrolet Lumina; 1991 Chevrolet pick-up; 1987 Pontiac Grand Am; 1986 Chevrolet Sprint Plus; 1994 Isuzu pick-up; 1984 Mercury Grand Marquis; 1982 Lincoln Continental; 1989 Dodge Ram; 1993 Mazda 626; 1992 Mitsubishi Eclipse; 1987 Dodge van; 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass; 1991 Chevrolet van; 1978 Harley-Davidson motorcycle; a 1985 GMC van; and 1991 Ford Thunderbird.
