88 Round Over the Course High Power Rifle Practice
July 27th
Location: TIGER VALLEY Shooting Facility (L.T. Dillon) at Prairie Hill, Texas (15 miles east of Waco on HWY 84).
Time: Firing will begin at 08:00 a.m. on Sunday. Squading begins at 07:00 and ends at 07:30 on both days.
Eligibility: All competitors are welcome.
Rules: NRA rules will govern this tournament.
Entry Fees: $25.00
Squading: Squading will be held at the statistical office from 07:00 a.m. until 07:30 a.m. Firing will start at 08:00 a.m.
Challenge: A fee of $1.00 will be charged for each lost challenge.
Rifles: Any legal United States Service rifle. (âFâ Class welcome)
Ammunition: Competitors must furnish their own ammunition. No tracers or armor piercing ammunition will be allowed. All bullets must remain supersonic at 600 yards. Ammunition not meeting this requirement will be removed from the firing line.
Course of Fire:
Sunday:
Match 1: 2 Sighting shots and 20 shots for record at 200 yrds, 22 minutes, standing.
Match 2: 2 Sighting shots and 2 strings of 10 shots standing to sitting rapid for record at 200 yrds, 60 seconds each string
Match 3: 2 Sighting shots and 2 strings of 10 shots standing to prone rapid for record at 300 yrds, 70 seconds each string
Match 4: 2 Sighting shots and 20 shots for record at 600 yrds, 22 minutes, prone
General: Competitors will be required to pull targets and score. There will be no lunch break. Drinks are available at the range. There are five RV hook-ups, showers, and restrooms available at the range. The fee is $15.00 per day.
Safety: All Safety rules at TIGER VALLEY Shooting Facility will be obeyed at all times. An open bolt indicator will be inserted into the breech of all rifles when not on the firing line and firing is in progress. Rifles will not be allowed on the firing line until directed by the range officer. Bolts will not be closed until the rifle is horizontal at the shoulder.
Directions to the Range: From Interstate 35 Exit 339 (Lake Waco / Lake Shore Drive exit), take Loop 340 eastward to HWY 84 (approximately 1 mile). Proceed on HWY 84 east approximately 13 miles to Watt (sign on both sides of post on right). Continue to the top of the next rise: the main gate is on the left between two modular homes (immediately after the blue one). DO NOT go past LCR 126 (Joe Russell Road) or Christmas Creek.
