I have a cousin who is visiting the area and his son has a big interest in WWII weapons and has never been able to fire a gun.

Unfotunately, all that is available is M2 ball and they will be staying about 30 minutes north of Dallas - so some of the ranges on the south side are out of range for this.

Anyone know of any ranges within about 30 minutes of Backwoods that allow FMJ?

I have heard that Backwoods does not allow FMJ on their rifle range.  Call before going out there just to make sure.  Collin County Gun Range, east of 75, is FMJ friendly but they have restricted operating hours due to a BS city ordinance that they are fighting.
