Everyone in the central TX/ San Antonio area... the TexasTactical Carbine match for this month is this coming Saturday!

check out mywebpage.netscape.com/texastactical/tx.html

It's the most fun you can have with your AR... or Mini14... or M1A... or FAL...

Look for me carrying a M4gery in a tactical sling with a stainless barrel.  I'll probably be wearing a Nike Golf cap or my Molon Labe cap.

If we get enough ARFCOM guys, we could all try to squad together.

Mike, (maddog mike)

It will be good to meet up with ya again!  It's about time you made it out.  I asked Henri if he wants to go, and he might be able to if he doesn't have some other stuff come up.

I meant to email you, but got distracted by work!  LOL

Mike (Iron Mike)  I switched schedules at work, so I have Sundays off now, so I'm going to try bigtime to try to make it to some IDPA matches.  I was fondling my 1911 last night after I dropped in a different trigger, and having loaded up a few hundred rounds over the weekend... she's itching for some blasting!  If you want, I'll bring my Thompson with me this weekend with a couple mags, if you'd like to try her out.

I think I finally got my extractor problems fixed...there's nothing like jamming on the first round, and finishing out the whole stage with your sidearm.  Good thing I carry 3 magazines!

I'll be there in some gaudy shirt (most likely Hawaiian) with some ballcap and a Royal Robbins vest.  :)

Good to hear... nothing is as fine as a well working weapon!  I'm glad my new M4gery is working fine.  No hiccups yet with only about 300 rounds through her.

I just can't decide if I want to carry my wheelgun again, or carry my 1911...  the 1911 is parkerized with black grips, so it's more 'tactical'... but the .357 is more accurate.... I can't decide!!

LOL... Mat you have a real problem there buddy!
I'd go 1911 for faster reloads. I've never been able to reload a wheel gun quickly.. even with those fancy reloaders for them.

I'll hopefully be joining yall up there sometime for a match. I'll be picking up my SA milspec 1911 on tuesday. So now I'll finally have a pistol!

Get it man!  You're gonna love the Milspec. It's one fine pistol.  I think I'm going to be bringing mine.  I don't have much trigger time with her, so she's getting some fondling.

You definitely need to come to a carbine match... it's the most fun you can have with a rifle!

Take it easy!

Here's a message from Mike (TexasTactical) about the match, and it's sudden cancellation:

Mike, I hope you don't mind me posting this...

Howdy everybody, as some of you already know or
have heard, Texas Tactical had a pretty severe
setback on Saturday. We arrived at our range in
Johnson City early Saturday morning to set up for
our monthly carbine match. As we drove up I could
see that there had been some dirt work done
around the bays, as I got closer I saw that the
berms in bay 1 had been reduced to about 4 to 5
feet tall! I continued to drive to the next bay
and saw it was also reduced to the same height.
Along about bay 3 it hit me "where is all our
equipment"? I drove all the way to the end of the
bays and came upon a horrible sight There was a
huge pile of dirt, twisted metal, broken wood,
and various other debri, as I stared in shock at
this rubble, I started to recognize bits and
pieces of the trash pile. There is a piece of a
barricade here, there were several mangled target
stands there, broken tables, chairs, twisted
pepper poppers, almost every single piece of our
equipment was broken and entangled in this mess.
I immediately called the land owner who was in
complete shock at what I told him. He told me
that he had given permission for a company to
come in and remove some kalichi from another part
of the property. At this point no one knows why
they destroyed the berms and bulldozed all of our
equipment into a huge pile. Several of our
shooters showed up and after everyone got over
their initial shock, we started digging through
the rubble to see if anything survived. It
appears that about 90% of our equipment was
destroyed. At this time the future of Texas
Tactical is up in the air, however, We are
definetely not giving up! We can find another
range but we are unable to afford the cost of
equipment to restart from scratch. Also after
talking to the Sheriffs Deputy and a spokesman
for the Company, it sounds like it is going to be
a difficult and time consuming process to recover
our losses (if at all). It definetely seems to me
that this will get alot uglier before, or if, it
gets better. We will keep everyone informed of
any updates.

I really want to thank everyone for their support
over the years. We have been putting on matchs
since IDPAs inception and have met alot of great
people throughout the years. We sure couldn't
have been able to do this without all the help
and support. THANK Y'ALL!!

Mike, I'm sorry to hear about this.  I was just about to walk out the door to drive down there when I got the cancellation mail.

I'm sure that if you need any help with anything, many of us will volunteer our time and resources to helping Texas Tactical get up and running again.
