As I am cursed to be an America online subscriber, I have likewise been cursed to routinely be sent "news" stories on my home page by the such-liberal-extremists-they-are-openly-socialist Huffington Post.  While brousing their web site, I frequently encounter blog postings from Mike Weisser, a supposed gun store owner and supposed NRA instructor.  Whan throws me for a loop is that this supposed NRA imstructor and gun store owner is repeating the outlandish lies and propaganda the gun prohibitionists are putting out that have been debunked eons ago.  He openly protests AGAINST laws that allow concealed carry and his latest antic on the Huffingtonpost is an article pleading that we declare gun suicides as part of "the issue of gun violence".

Mike Weisser is supposed to be the owner of the Ware gun shop, in Ware, MA.  I gotta ask, who the hell is this guy?  We're down here in Connecticut and we're fighting tooth and nail to defend our rights against the crap going on these days and it ain't helping if you guys up in Massachussets are making retarded public statements like "Is gun ownership really being threatened or is that just what the NRA wants you to think?"

We even had one legislator here propose a law that banned EVERY gun except for single shot firearms...yes, even hunting rifles...so I can answer, yes gun ownership really is being threatened, thank you very much.

I haven't seen the articles, but the owner of Ware Gun Shop is a total piece of crap from a business standpoint.

I was on my way by the shop one day and stopped in for the first time. I'm about an hour from there. He had a nice 6" Smith Model 19 there that he says he just can't move. I left, thinking about a trade offer. I called when I got home and spoke to him. I offered an even trade of a 4" 686 for it and he accepted.

I called my father and asked if he wanted to take a ride. When we got there, he looks at the 686 and said it would be my gun plus $200 for the 19. I asked if he felt the 686 wasn't in the condition he described, and he agreed it was better than I described over the phone. I asked about the even trade we verbally agreed on over the phone. All he had to say was "It got you here, didn't it?"

We left. He's lucky I didn't drive my truck through his front window after pulling that crap.

Could you post links?

He advertises in my gun club's news letter and comes for a gun show-sale once a year but if that's true I'm gonna make sure he's PNG.

Here is the link to Mike Weisser's blog on the Huffington Post...

Mike Weisser's gun control blog

...where he writes articles in favor of California's ban on lead ammunition, portraying suicide as being an issue with gun violence, and pieces with titles that just plain makes my head short circuit like A Gun Shop Owner's Perspective: Why Illinois Should Not Pass the Concealed Carry Law  and Is Gun Ownership Really Threatened or Is That Just What the NRA Wants You to Think?.  He claims to be a gun shop owner and a life member of the NRA and then turns around and repeats all the fake information only the hard core gun control people keep repeating.  It even has a picture of the guy just to make sure we're talking about the same character.  The Huffington Post is as liberal as sour cream is white so his creating a blog there to begin with screams of an ulterior agenda right there.

It makes absolutely no sense, which tells me there's a missing piece to the story the guy isn't telling us..

You might want to re-post this in www.northeastshooters.com's General Discussion. You'll get a lot more MA readers over there.

Michael R. Weisser (Mike Weisser aka Mikethegunguy) is indeed the same guy.

His articles appear on the Daily Kos and the Huffington Post. He is the "gun guy" on the "Evolve Together" group which is an advocacy organization for gun control. He also has a blog at mikethegunguy.com. Articles he writes there often appear on both the aforementioned left wing sites.

He wrote an article lately calling for lead bullets to be banned. He says that no one needs a gun and have not since 1890 when the frontier closed. He says that guns are "toys" and a hobby and no one really needs them. You can read all that on his site. Examples:

Why Does The Gun Control Crowd Want To Take Away Our Toys?
http://mikethegunguy.com/2013/09/19/why-does-the-gun-control-crowd-want-to-take-away-our-toys/

Let’s Get The lead Out Of Ammo
http://mikethegunguy.com/2013/08/19/lets-get-the-lead-out-of-ammo/

He has a book on Amazon.com:

http://www.amazon.com/Guns-Good-Guys-Bad-Violence/dp/0615883990/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1379712835&sr=8-1&keywords=michael+weisser

Only one review so far that I've seen.

He claims in one place (in last couple months) to have sold 15,000 guns, and on Amazon he claims 40,000. He claims to have been a former professor. He also claims to have been a VP for IT of a major company in MA. He claims to be an NRA Life Member and instructor. No idea what is true and what is not. One thing for sure I can tell you personally. He is a very disagreeable person.

You can decide for yourself which side he is really on.
