Are airguns that come with a suppressor permanently attached legal? Asking for a friend who lives in NJ but not a member here.

Unlike federal law, NJ laws consider an air rifle to be a firearm.  Therefore, any sound suppression device, integral or not, meets the NJ definition of "firearm silencer", and is therefore illegal, per 2C:39-3c:
Any person who knowingly has in his possession any firearm silencer is guilty of a crime of the fourth degree

Yeah it's pretty much a giant pita to find an air rifle that's not "quiet" anymore
