May seem like a dumb question but are M1s still on the "No-No" list? I was lurking on Fulton's website this morning and am tempted to build put together an M1 Garand or Carbine. Barreled actions and parts seem reasonable.

M1 Garands are legal, Carbines are not

Thanks. Looks like I may be paying off the CC a bit sooner to start buying parts for a Garand.

Too easily concealed by slipping it down one's pants leg.
And way too devastating from a ballistic standpoint.

We must protect the children, right?

It's always for the chirruns. That's why we can't have bayonet lugs. Cause bayonet lugs murder puppies in their sleep.

I had heard that it's actually because during the Newark riots in the 60s a Carbine plant was overrun and Carbines were taken in great numbers so they banned them in NJ.  Any truth to the story?

A common story being told at the time of the ban was that the carbine wasn't originally on the list.  Until that is,  there was a (bank?) robbery somewhere in north jersey and one of the perps had one.

True. But it'll be a neat and fun experience building one.

Yeah it's very ironic that m1 carbines are illegal since most commercial copies were made in New Jersey. I think the riots and Plainfield machine company had something to do with it, but I think it may have been more political than that.

Just another "brick in the wall" - they are building the Berlin Wall here brick by brick... think about it.

It really is sad that it started out as one of the original 13 colonies and now it's a prison. Same with NY and CT and MA. Bunch of communists.
