Do they happen here at all? I'd get together with some fellow Arfcommers when I was living in MS and it was always a pretty good time. I don't know too many people outside of work here, it would be cool to meet some fellow gun people.

That eases my worries some. When I move back in the Spring I was hoping to meet some fellow ARF members and go shooootin'.

If enough interest is shown,  Ray is usually good for hosting at least one a year.  Just after Christmas last year there was a small but fun get together.  I wouldn't mind another

Yes we did have regular get-togethers - them one of us almost got busted for a legal weapon on Civie territory within Fort Dix.

I will let someone else get into the particulars.

Here's my take, try to keep it short:

Range 14 at Fort Dix was the HTF meeting place for a few years, usually having 4 shoots a year with a theme or two such as the pumpkin shoot, snowball or frozen nuts shoot or something like that.
It started out as an informal meeting of a few members, eventually growing to about 40 if I am not mistaken, it all came crashing down due to the Friendly Range Master being replaced with some asshole bitch ( Long Story )
After the harassment of one of our own, we boycotted the place and moved the shoots to Langhorne Gun Club in Pa. for awhile, for some reason, it just did not have the same atmosphere as Range 14.

We have had a few shoots at the South Jersey Shooting Club in Winslow for a year or two till that fizzled out, there was even one or two at a North Jersey Gun Range with a name that escapes me right now, perhaps someone
here can help with that.

The Buckeye Gun Club, I believe is the last Range to host such organized events and many training classes, it did get popular for a few years because the Hosts are just great folks. Thanks Ray

All the shoots were pretty much successful and fun, nobody got hurt and I believe nobody was asked to leave, it is difficult these days to get folks together just for one day months in advance, but with a new crop
of members here, it would be great to something going again, but it usually requires someone who is savvy in doing the legwork.

Anyways, here's to You, FMJunkie  The One who started it all.

I used to live in Maple Shade. Lived in the apartments opposite the funeral home on Main St. I am now up in Bloomfield.
As for a HTF shoot I would be interested in attending assuming I am issued a days leave by the Commandant.

If there is enough interest, we can always get something put together.
At Buckeye, the issue is now it's hunting season sooo we cannot have any type of event until April 2015.

Saturday, April 11th or Sunday April 12th are possible dates (weekend AFTER Easter).
Shooting times are10:00am till 5:00pm.

People can show up as early as 8:00am if they want to BS and help set up for the day.
Those that wish to bring their better half, we have a cabin where they can sit in warmth and chat with the others.

http://buckeyegc.wildapricot.org/Target-Shooting

A donation to the club will have to be made so we can have the range for the day.
Usually $10 a head.
We now also have a range dedicated to crossbow / bow as well for those that would like to do that.

It definitely will give everyone enough time to plan for it.
I have to bring it to the membership for approval.

April would be fine with me. I currently only have one pistol with me because I didn't know what my living situation was going to be when I got out here so that would give me some time to get the rest of my (NJ legal) blasters out here.

I would be very interested in attending a BBQ at Your House Bankat...
That is a very Generous offer from you to open up your house for Us.

It would be really nice to Finally meet some of our NJ Forum Members in Person...

I think it would be better if we waited until the Spring to plan a get together...

I have plenty of 5.56 and .22 LR Ammo that I can bring to share with Members...
Along with a Case of Beer... A couple pounds of shrimp and a Box of Burgers... <edit: to be consumed after the shooting due to HEALTH and SAFETY issues>

The only question I have is how are your neighbors going to feel about a bunch of us shooting on your property?
A couple shooters can make some serious noise.

Please keep us posted on a possible date that would work for you.
Thanks,  Mbdolfin

Unfortunately your 7.62x39 AR isn't legal for coyotes. Only rifles in .25 caliber or smaller can be used.

It's not that complicated. My little brother and I used to shoot quite a few of them back home in WI. When we were younger one of us would call and carry the shotgun, the other would be on the rifle. As we got older and save our pennies, we bought a Fox pro and then one would be on the rifle while the other watched behind us with the shotgun. Hell sometimes we would set the fox pro up in the backyard and shoot them from the window

That was at the Old Bridge Rifle and Pistol Club in 2009  (???).

Unfortunately , that will never happen again due  to decisions by the Club Board.
