Many thanks to Peter, Tim and Steve for organising todays trip to Altcar.

Weather could have been a lot better but still no complaints.

I'm sure someone will be along later to post a picture or two.

Good of you to say Mike, glad you enjoyed it, 9 hrs shooting is hard work

OK Piccies
'i' Range for the morning session (200 yards) and it never stopped raining

This range is however quite sheltered in the dunes.

I even had an hour as sentry, I sent a text to Bunnyassasin telling him what a fantastic
time I was having in a 4x4 sentry tour.

The view to North Wales was quite stunning, you could see Anglesey

'B' Range in the afternoon (300 yards) the weather much better except 1 heavy shower.
and I signed the 609 for this one so I was the range nazi

I'll keep this thread alive and post some more piccy's as we are there again
next Sunday afternoon

We've had some real sweltering days down there over the years.... Some wet too, but a cracking complex, very well maintained...

Tim got tower duty (from his text) and that is about the only negative thing I can think about the place.... looking forward to the PR shoot (hint Steve) later this year...

I did a two hour shift on the beach tower one year and the army was doing helicopter assaults on the mock town just behind it .

I have no idea if anyone went along the beach that day , I spent all my time looking the other way

are they letting private clubs use K range yet ?

I think you can, I have the standing orders for the range, but I dont think you can use the troop shelter there ???? i'll check

There range orders are very strict in that all attendees have to be club members, MoD comp certified and Altcar ID pass holders
or I would happily have you along for a day with us. We will be there at least once a month from now on
