..well, three actually

No surprises there then I hear you cry. You may be right, but no, I am talking about the accessory rail on the forend of my Tikka M65A. It is secured by three screws and they have got more and more loose. I took them out today to find that they are actually machine screws. WTF? thinks I. Machine screws to secure into wood? Anyway, I am toying with just replacing them with some slightly larger wood screws to take the slop out, and it occurred to me that there might be captive nuts let into the barrel channel that have come loose and dropped off. Anyone intimately familiar with this particular model? I am trying to avoid removing the barrel/action to find out.

bite the bullet and take it out of the stock - its not rocket science!
Alternately, use some epoxy and glue the bloody rail in

More like one of the family Trade it in for a TRG...

It is, that's why I can't arse about with it, but our armourer can't be arsed to do it.....

I've already turned down a TRG, I'd rather keep the Tikka going.............

Well that's part of the problem, but it does shoot well when it's not rattling. I had a play with the folding stock TRG today, 20" barrel, all the bits, bloody horrible, heavy, clanky thing...............no class at all...shoots bloody well though

the folding stock TRG's look awful & the cost of them is ridiculous.

It's probably me that's rattling but the rifle coming out in sympathy doesn't help
