Mein Deutsch ist jetzt nicht so ausgezeichnet, also werde ich diese Post auf Englisch schreiben. Ich koennte versuchen, um sie auf Deutsch zu schreiben, aber ich wuerde ein bisschen Zeit brauchen

I was just hoping to maybe gain some info about where to go to shoot in southern Germany / Switzerland. I'm studying in Stuttgart, Baden-Wuerttemberg for the year, and since I'll only be home for Christmas for about two weeks, I'll be itching to find somewhere to shoot.

Are there any public ranges in southern Germany to shoot at that wouldn't be too much of a haul from Stuttgart? I know German gun laws are fairly restrictive, so I doubt there's anywhere with rentals in Germany.

I'm hoping to get down to Switzerland while I'm here, and I'd love to shoot a Sig SG550 / SG551 / SG552 (Stgw 90 / Fass 90). I know there are military ranges all over Switzerland, but is there anywhere where a non-Swiss citizen would be able to shoot, not to mention rent a rifle or handgun?

Maybe I could meet up with a member (or members) on this board if you'll be having a shoot sometime. I'd be more than happy to pay for ammo and buy you guys some beers afterwards.

It was nice to meet you Jeff, and I hope you had fun ! I couldnt have you try everything that we planned (Ph had a lot of other rifles to try) but 4 hours was little time for all these guns ! I counted, and we shot 6 different rifles and 10 different pistols.. Wich is not too bad in four hours !!!

I admire you for being so long in trains just to shoot guns with us. I hope you had a good day, even out of the range !

I had a great time in Switzerland, it was good to meet you! Thanks for hosting me for the day and letting me shoot your collection of guns...loved the Mk18 Mod 0, the Mk12 Mod 0, and the Stgw 90 in particular. I wanted to go shooting at least once while I was here in Europe, so now I can say I've done it. It was great to see some of Geneva as well and learn a bit about Switzerland, totally worth the long train ride!

Loved the borrowed 7.65 Luger, and as much as I hate to admit it, that G19C was a sweet-shooting pistol. With the exception of the P210, I couldn't hit anything with the other pistols though

Geneve from that hill to the west, too bad it was so hazy.

I'll have to come back in the spring to check out PH's collection and possibly get some trigger time on that AK or M4 of yours...

AS you said, you could try my M4's and AK, in a more "dynamic" range ! You've seen swiss sport shooting, you've now to see swiss combat shooting !

And I am sure Ph would be glad to show you his collection too, which is just HUGE compared to mine.

I hope you did survive the "fondue" We don't eat only that, so maybe in the spring I can have you eat something lighter.. At least you can say you got the all inclusive swiss "package"...
