I was contacted about a job there, and do miss the climate, low population, mountains, and vast public land.  The job would be at Kirkland AFB.  But I've been hearing about the crap going on there.  The bitch governor, and crime getting worse.

I'm thinking I would be better off trying to find a job in Arizona or CO. The problem is that they don't come up that often in the government for what I do.

Edit Dec 23.

I had to pass on the interview at Kirkland.  My wife has been having stomach and intestinal pain for a year now.  Just a few weeks ago she did a test where she swallowed a camera capsule.  It found (11) ulcers in her small intestine.  We got the results two weeks ago.  I also passed on applying for a job in AZ, and passed on an interview for a GS-14 position in Savannah GA.  The problem is finding a doctor that will do their job properly.

The all lib state government just changed our congressional districts so that we will never see another GOP or any other party win except democrats for congressional reps.  More and more liberals are pouring into Albuquerque and Santa Fe.  Down south there has been an influx of transient oil field workers. I have nothing against any of them and hope they do well but, the population changed and I doubt if many will bother to vote but I could be wrong. It is depressing. I have lived in NM my entire life. I stayed here because I love the public land and like to hunt and off road. I am having a hard time leaving emotionally but, I will be moving to Texas as soon as I can afford to do so. We have red flag laws, no selling firearms unless through a dealer and NMSP enforcing pandemic decrees. The state government pretty much passes whatever they want and fuck the citizenry. I sure thought that Northern NM voters would oust those commie bastards last election but they did not. I guess it's doomed. Recreational Marijuana is now lawful. We have people running around with a psychoactive drug in their head. Albuquerque murder rate for 2021 is at 108. If you move, make sure you have a CCW or get one pronto. Good Luck.

If you take a job at Kirtland, Los Lunas or Belen are worth checking out. Even Rio Rancho is getting sketchy.

OP- I'd recommend finding Mew Mexico specialists for your wife before moving.  NM isn't known for cutting edge healthcare.
