They bought 2 R/C helicopters a few years ago for the same thing. It was somewhere around $80000 for those. They have yet to use them. Seems like a waste of more money to me.
Edit- after I actually read some of the article you linked to, it seems that they have gotten FAA approval now. They have had those helicopters for at least five or so years and if memory serves me right, they are still looking for the guys that sold the helicopters to them. Evedentally the helos arent working and the company has closed shop or something, so much for a warranty. |

They crashed the chopper within a month of making it operational. It was landing in high winds < wasn't supposed to be flying anyway, per the company> anywho it was hovering at 30 feet and has a auto land function the Officer had it on but not locked in? or something like that and it dropped like a rock. 60,000.00 down the drain.
