Had a little excitement here tonight.  Heard a boom.  Thought my son had dropped a box upstairs.  After a while he came down stairs and said "did you hear that?"  He said he looked out his window and said he thought he saw a vehicle that may have hit the utility pole across from my driveway and saw some kids running.  I went outside and didn't notice anything.  A few minutes later I could see a fire out my back door in the apartment parking complex next to my house.

For a history...Thursday night someone trashed/vandalized a Yukon in the parking lot of the apartments.  The vehicle was backed in next to the fence up against my property.  They had broken windows, spray painted the vehicle, knifed the inside seats and trashed the dash.  Fast forward top tonight and looks like someone opened the doors and threw something flammable inside and lit it.  At some point in the fire the vehicle alarm sounded with lights and horn blaring.  Cops and fire trucks everywhere.

Yep.  People are fucking around at night. The ONLY thing more important to a home defense firearm than a good light, is ammo.

Looks to me like whoever did this means business. 1+ on the light. A cost effective light set up is a fenix LD20 $52 in a Viking tactics mount $25.

Light is 180 Lumens on AA Battery.

General Mode of 9 lumens (71hrs)
intermediate Mode of 47 lumens (13hrs)
high mode of 94 lumens (5hrs)
Turbo Mode and or Strobe Mode of 180 lumens (2hrs)

The light is digitally regulated so that to maintains constant brightness the entire run time.

Hope this helps as an affordable option. I have this set up on 4 rifles. Best price is on EBAY for $52 shipped with free batteries. I bought an auction that came with batts and a batt charger, which is very handy!

Hope everything turns out ok.

I'd like to have a shotgun light, but no one makes a mount for my gun.  Escort Aimguard...

BamaInArk, is that here in LR?  Saw in the Dem-Gaz this morning some band kids got their rides trashed up in Jacksonville.  Shitty people to do that.

On the light note, anybody mounted one on the Magpul MOE handguard, and if so, would their polymer rail work ok?  I have some cheap-ass Chicom rails I ordered from Sportsman's Guide last year, and they stick out a little far it seems.

Same vehicle both times?

If so, don't worry. Sounds like it was personal. Maybe a jilted wife or GF?
Somebody got some 'splainin' to do!

Yep same vehicle.  At first I kinda thought it was someone got caught cheating.  They had spray painted bitch on the side of the vehicle.  I'm sure this was personal and not random since they came back to finish off the vehicle.

Have you done alot of shooting with the light mounted and on?

I've always been interested in them, but for serious stuff I want to hear ALOT of reports on how they hold up. I need to get a few for pocket carry regardless.

I have maybe put 500 rds through the .223, 250rds through the 9mm. Lights where used in a simulated course during a night time run and gun. The lights are very high quality. You know that feeling when you first held a Larue Mount in your hand? And you said to yourself this is quality, now I understand why it cost so much. I experienced the same thing with the Fenix flash lights.  I ordered 2 to start, now I have 6, and gave my mom one and sister one. I could probably get a better mount for it, but It works well for the POU. I have however dropped the LD20 I use for pocket carry many times, no issues to report. I think you would be very happy with one. The beam is tight, has no artifacts, I love the battery run time.

Some guy on this board sent me a Surefire Scout light with mount and pressure switch not too long ago for free!  Lucky me!  Now I just need a rail to mount to my handguard.
