I live in Illinois but want to live in Arkansas preferably in Benton but anywhere between Little Rock and Arkadelphia will do.
My brother Lou lives near Benton and of course theres Benton gun club where he shoots in club matches.
I am a member of 2 gun clubs here in IL. Pistol range which is associated with Moose International is only a 10 min. drive. To shoot pistol, hi power long guns and clays is 50 mins away. Not bad at all but nothing like Benton gun club.
I will retire soon and am looking for a small home/mobile home to rent or buy in said area preferably away from town. I don't require much...hot & cold running water, heat and a/c.

Besides my guns and gun safe I travel lite.
I own a couple Springfield 1911s, a Wilson'ized Norinco 1911 and a Nighthawk Customs 1911, ARs, S&W wheel guns and a few shotguns. For the past couple of years my main shooters are XDM 5.25 in 9mm and one in .45 auto both with Powder River trigger parts.
And I reload using a Dillon 550B
Some years ago I took in a 2 year old starved 5.5 pound red short haired wiener dog that would bite anything and everything and had to be handled with thick gloves. He was a hairless sack of bones. He weas so mean and ugly nobody wanted him and had 11 days before he would be put down.
I lived alone so I said fuck it, paid his vet bill and took him home. Obviously he had endured torture and alot of constant pain. I promised him no more pain, no more stress.
If it shows up heres a pic of me and VonBarky. In the pic I had him 5 years and he weighs 10.4 lbs. right where he should be.
" />
Since I've had him he has never felt pain (except by the vet) or been yelled at. I have NEVER hit him. It took a little time but once he knew all I had for him was good food, bottled water, comfort and warmth he turned into the dog he always was.
I don't understand how ppl can abuse a helpless animal.

Thanks
VonBark

Check out Vets Range up in Bald Knob.
Vets Shooting Center

Any particular reason for living In Cabot?  Most folks would be staying farther from Little Rock if they work in Searcy.

Wife will probably work in little rock.  Plus I am a resident physician and dont want to be seeing my patients every time I go to walmart.  Also seems just like a little nicer area and I can go to eat and have a beer of I want.

Hi Warhawk!  We need to get together soon. No I haven’t joined them yet. I need to do that. The guy who sold my house took me there and I really enjoyed it...it’s a great range.

Any AR members interested in starting an American Pioneer Corps group? It would be great if some of us could get together to do some training hikes. I’m old AF but I’m interested in developing stamina and fitness by hiking in beautiful AR with some new friends. I live near Hot Springs.

Do you want to know more? Check out the APC link I posted, then look down the page for the fitness requirements. Besides hiking we could dabble in map reading and orientation, radio comms, Appleseed, etc.
