How many days of set or drift netting will the fuckers allow? current Red run hasn't materialized either, less than 200k in river to date. At least there are not a million Pinks for them to add to the Red count this year like they always do.

All depends on how much money flows, as usual.

Commercial fishing in the 70's to early 90's played a big part of killing off the king run here on the Kusko.
But some others thing helped also.
Intercept fisheries,rivers breaking up in winter scrubbing the egg beds,more beaver and population getting bigger.



King run was down this year.
Reds are doing okay.
But the chum run collapsed.
Had way to many subsistence openers.

King Crab is like that here. We have a 48 hour opening for personal use and the commercial boats come next week to clean them out.

Stay out of local waters... you have a big boat, go 10 miles further and fish.

Nice to have one opening a year for two crab, but the boats sell them at the harbor and have more than enough.
