Hope you had a great one too.

I'm looking at heading to the midwest in the next year or two, but we'll see what happens on the timetable.  I'm going to miss this place something fierce, but cost/benefit is just getting harsher and harsher.

It was good thank you!

I am going to miss your photography of Alaska.

Where are you looking at? I have also been looking at Montana Wyoming, and Idaho.

They tax you out of house and home in ID. 7.4% income, 6% state sales tax, local sales tax, I mean good grief it’s cheaper to live in Alaska!

ETA my buddy said groceries are not exempt if I correctly recall.

I’m going to miss it too, but I plan on one massive road trip to take photos before I go. The girlfriend is in SD so I’ll probably end up in the IA/NE/SD corner where they meet ish.  It’ll certainly be a new experience though.

Idaho, especially the Post Falls area is beautiful. If I could afford it and convince the gf, I’d prefer there but that’s life.

So stupid question....

Why not just get a regular washer? My washer takes about 10-14 gallons of water per load depending on the dirt load.

Obviously the whole generator to run the well pump and running a water hose inside would suck.

In the beginning she said it was to cold to be outside. What do people do for work when it's that cold?

Depends on the type of work. I remember building walls for a fire station under a pice of visqueen with a space heater stuck under one end sort of inflating it…also remember the soup I had in my Stanley thermos froze on that job before lunch time one day.

Because they live off-grid in a 16x20 house with a loft. They don't have the space or the power for a full-size washer/dryer.
