It’s rough out there. Spent 5 or 6 days on the fall hunt getting rained on and didn’t get any. Was surprised when only 160 or so of zone 1s 3,000 quota had been taken for the winter hunt. Went out there this week and the wind and snow is rough.

Rode out Miller house 8 or 9 miles until the drifts got super big and made travel hard. Luckily some fellow Alaskans came along and helped get some stuck sleds out.

Driving back toward town saw a small group on the ridge and decided my as well go after them. Ran into big drifts and flat light. Herd moved up and over the ridge so wrestled the machines back to the truck.

Overall very impressed with the tundra. It can hold its own. My 88 skidoo safari Cheyenne was also the first one over the big drifts at Miller house. But didn’t want to leave the valley near eagle summit

Also we needed a thread that wasn’t covid or election related

Nice pics

Mount some yellow led fog lights on the machine. Will help with the flat light.
Also yellow headlight bulbs.
Strap a shovel to the machine.

With the big wind storm and rain this week the river broke up again.

I had a shovel and all the other gear on the 88. I should swap out the headlights.

Yeah we had -25 in early November now it’s been high 20s low 30s for a while. Haven’t been out on a lake yet.
