I moved up here from Arizona, down there you can only have a 5rd magazine when hunting with centerfire semi-autos like an ar15. Is Alaska the same way? or can I take my ar15 with a 30 rd mag out there?
I looked on the Ak fish and game website but couldnt find anything.

I too looked in the regs forever and couldn't find a damn thing. I would assume 5rd is the max, I made sure whenever I went hunting I had a 5rd mag, but I would call them.

There is no mag limit, if its not in the regs which I couldn't find it would be legal. I've used 30 rd mags to hunt up here and so do many others, especially in the villages where AR's are common hunting rifles.

I hunt with a 25 round mag in my 6.8.  Nothing in the regs about it.

No mag limits for hunting rifles. Only mag limits are federal ones when hunting waterfoul with a shotgun.

There is a limit on how much you want to pack and how much your snowshoes will hold though, ammo weight is really why arfcomers all use the 300+lb plus size...
