A bland, quiet, bedroom community. If you make it there before the snow flies, check out the visitor's center up the ER valley. Very nice hiking, views. Nice little day trip.

If your willing to tolerate taxes and traffic witha view of the brown air Eagle River isn't bad. Good clean bedroom community that always amazed me about its lack of facilities given its population. 14 years of the commute to Anchorage was enough to drive me to the bush. I survived the highway transition and spent many an evening counting every tree from Muldoon to Eagle River.
