Does anyone know what I can and can't do when it comes to shipping a rifle I've sold to someone out of state?  He's in Ar.  Is that arkansas?

I don't have an ffl but it seems like I can send it thru the USPS to his ffl, which I will get via an ink signed copy, and use the online check at the atf ffl database?

Is that all there is to it?

I guess I could call the atf in the morning.

As long as his FFL will accept it from a non-ffl (some do some don't) you can ship USPS.  Will need to declare it when you mail.  They have you fill out a form that says something to the effect that the gun is a long arm, is unloaded, and is being shipped to an FFL.

Very simple, priority mail.  FFL's need to be signed in blue ink.  Very strait forward.  Handguns are a different story.

FFL's can be faxed now.

Wow, that's news to me.  Not followed up by a hard copy original before shipping?  If so, sweet as that'll make my life easier...and future waiting times less
