Hey folks, new here.

I didn't see a introductions section so figured I post here.  Nor did I see any place to enter "about me" so here goes..

I'm a X military blue collar conservative divorced family man haha.     Ive got a Benelli Nova but with all the latest uncertainties, I need/want one compact ambidextrous 9mm pistol for home self defense.

Anyway, if you see me asking some dumb ass questions cut me some slack please..

View from my bugout property in Iowa County my GF lives at.

Thanks everyone..

Im going nuts researching pistols..  How do I receive email notifications when someone replied to my thread?

Now I'm on the full size (because I want a full length grip) , single stack (because I want a small diameter grip for my small hands) , DA/SA kick (because coworker said don't buy a DAO), but read glock's are DAO? But then later, that they aren't really, but striker fired, which is in a class of its own?

How many glock forums do people ready need? Let alone all the gun forums, one of which I got banned from for mentioning another site.. Wow, talk about censorship.

MAN this pistol buying is confusing as all get-out! And it seems like all my research is for nothing, because my local gun shops only carry left-overs or what people dont want. No 9mm DA/SA pistols at all!

Good thing I accomplished something.. I just received 40 Hornady Critical Defense 00 Buckshot shells for my nova..

I wish I could line up ahundred pistols and shot them, but I'll be lucky just to hold a few.

Rant over..

If you want to drive to the northeast corner of IA, I've got a few you can try before you spend any money. Glock 19, 1911s(.45,.22 and 10mm), Star BM, Ruger LC9, SR22 and a few others. I'm sure someone closer would let you try a couple too.

Spaz- drive down to Hayesville on Thur- Sat and check out Skunk River Arms.

Dan usually has a great selection to compare though inventory is down right now, as everywhere.

Glock is a DAO, yes, it is striker fired also. Just because your buddy says he doesn't like a DAO, doesn't mean dick. Try some shit out, and see what works for YOU.

I carried Glock's for over 10 years, now I'm on DA/SA CZ's, because I like them. SAO would be preferred, but I'm not going to retrain myself for disengaging a safety on the draw.

Opinions are like assholes, and you'll find plenty on forums, and in the real world at gun shops.

ETA: And on this forum, only way to see when there's a response in your thread, is to have a paid Team membership, and then add it to your subscriptions list.

If it wasn't the original 2 tone one, I probably would sell it. I still rock my 43 since it's a great micro compact.
