It is a state highway. I heard back, they said they reviewed it and determined it didn't warrant a no passing zone. I have no idea how they determine it. I meet traffic every night pulling into my driveway and by the time you see them it's way too late to pull out and pass.

FWIW, their criteria is they follow each other at 1000' apart and need to be able to see each others headlights/taillights. I went out with my rangefinder and it looks like if they were driving pickups it would meet this, but if they drove cars it wouldn't.

Sorry your probably out of luck. The state really only cares that you can pass farm equipment safely not passenger vehicles traveling close to the limit.
As it is now 95% of passes are illegal as performed for one or multiple reasons so if they came out and marked yours then they would have to re-mark everything. It sucks but just do your best not to be the next guy in that spot. |
