The NRA School Shield Security Assessor Training
is coming to Newton, IA October 21-25, 2019!
Hosted by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, this training is provided
by the NRA as part of the NRA School Shield program launched in an
effort to better equip law enforcement, security personnel, and school
systems in their pursuit of safer schools and communities. The training
will be conducted by certified NRA instructors who are current/former
Law Enforcement Officers. The training is conducted in both a
classroom and in the field at a local school campus and will focus on
learning to detect threat potential and security weaknesses both day
and night on and around a school campus.

policing units, school facilities personnel, and other officials tasked
with a direct responsibility for school security.
Featuring classroom instruction, tabletop exercises and hands- on
