The Iowa forum has been a bit slow the past week so I thought I would post.
Anybody Turkey hunting Iowa this year? Any success? What part of Iowa are you hunting? My son and I hunted day 1 and 2 of first season in NE Iowa before the rain, ice, snow, and wind moved in. We struck out. I think the late spring had them in an odd pattern. Nothing green yet where we hunted, no buds on the trees and bushes.

Checking the fields in dallas county last week and saw turkeys together out scratching in one spot.
Had to of been 20 of them at least. Good sign |

I have a lot of areas that the turkeys have scratched large bare areas in the grass...and I won’t even eat turkey! Damn turkeys!&&@$

Friend got on today. Boone River valley, his usual spot. Young one. I haven't made it out yet. Maybe fourth season.

My dad shot a Jake last Saturday. My son hunted two weekends and struck out both times.
