@septic-tank I saw a thread here a few weeks ago, and was having the same thought myself. Is there any use buying a can from you, and holding off on the stamp with hopes we get something passed this year? I know the argument against it is to just do the form, pay the stamp, and then if the bill comes through then worst case scenario you're out the $250. But I am of the mindset that I'd prefer to not do any more paperwork and submit anymore finger prints than I have to. Not to mention, the $250 could be put towards an extra .22 can. View Quote I've been thinking about similar. Buy a solvent trap, keep it as a solvent trap. Change things if the bill goes through, submit paperwork if it doesn't. That way if it goes our way, the bill's passage is shorter than NFA wait and if it doesn't I can still start paperwork. |

Haven't looked at the wording. Would that effectively make a Form 1 can a diy muzzle device with no paperwork? Just buy the parts? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

The legislation as proposed would provide you with a tax credit, so the $200 tax stamp fee is not lost forever. With President Trump's son pushing this, I suspect it will pass as drafted. Haven't looked at the wording. Would that effectively make a Form 1 can a diy muzzle device with no paperwork? Just buy the parts? The tax credit is for if you buy a tax stamp between the time the bill is introduced and the day it passes. Then the tax stamps go away. So there's no harm in starting a form 1 at least. That's from what I read, could be wrong. |

Got the glorious text today that not one, but two of my stamps made their way to Septic's.
Now if I could just pin him down on a time. Supposed to be 50 degrees this weekend!! |

I'm back on the clock! Took 6 months two weeks last time.
Hoping for Labor Day Weekend! |

Congrats. I keep hoping for the same text. Sadly it may be summer before I get mine. View Quote Don't fret, I have cans that I bought BEFORE July and never got around to submitting... and now have procrastinated about the process, so the cans I bought FIRST will come in.... about December, 2017. Did them through silencershop, so no idea on when ATF actually took payment.
However my form 4's were "submitted" 4/29 and 5/4, so I'd venture a guess at saying yes, cashed in May. |

Hah View Quote Sadly with the changes with 41F/P and the timing of when we were allowed by our overlords the chance to wait in line for permission I could not find anything I wanted until almost the last minute. With the rush I don't expect to see or hear anything until August or later. Which while it sucks to put down cash and have to wait a year plus I did it with the expectation that was going to be the case. |

Stamp #2 showed up yesterday! Form 4 individual was mailed 06/13/16.
Since its my 2nd rimfire can I'm half tempted to let it sit there for a couple months to see if HPA passes, that way I can cancel for a guaranteed $200 refund even if that part gets dropped from the bill. I won't shoot it much until it really warms up anyway. |

Nope, septic said he gets big batches every Wednesday. He doesn't think I should worry yet. I am at 30 days, might have to look into getting a duplicate sent. I read the copy doesn't have an actual stamp, so it's not as cool. View Quote I was really hoping yours would be in. It might give me some hope of mine being in soon. If I were you I would still call on monday and request a certified copy. If it is actually lost then your not waiting to start waiting on the copy to arrive. If your real stamp arrives even better. I may also be a little impatient, waiting 9+ months on the ATF, total of over a year since I bought my first can. |
