What are people bringing to shoot at for the spring GTG?

Of course people will bring tannerite, but what about bowling pins, pop up or dueling targets, disk blades, plate steel etc?

I know I can get a couple dozen steel disk blades, but I am not sure about safety concerns with using them.

I am going to try and get some bowling pins from the little bowling alley at home, but I dont know if he will give/sell me any.

Any other ideas?

303 bullets from the bren will cut disk blades in half, ask me how i know.   i an actually planning on working on a plate rack with the possbility of it being remote resetting(i am still in the design stage).  hopefully i will have some more fun stuff that wont get torn to hell by the machineguns

I think he is talking about the 3-D man target.

Yup

He took a hell of a beating from all the sub guns, and even the mg42.

And the .50 cals! I fired a few at him from the McMillian. Boy, is that a sweet rifle. I would never have imagined that it would be nice to fire a .50.

The sizes that were used last fall Booger, were roughly 10 - 18 oz bottles. They didn't seem too earth shaking, although the pumpkins were in fear of becoming pie filling!

Like the other times, I'll bring a couple of sawhorses with hanging steel plates (7x14" railroad plates). They make a nice sound when hit, can take a fair amount of punishing (50 cal excluded), and are safe to shoot at (I have shot literally thousands of 5.56x45 and 7.62x39 at them at 50 yds with no problems).

I was planning on having one at 50 yds, and the other at 100 yds.

If people are still too squimish at shooting them at 50 yds then both can go at 100 yds. But it's fun to rapid-fire a steel plate, and actually hit the thing. And it's actually safe (swinging plates, NOT rigid).

I'll also bring a small spinning steel target for handguns.
And small spinners for .22 LR.

And bowling pins.
And wooden blocks.

I feel sorry for the sawhorses, however. They will not survive...

That looked somewhat more than 100 yds, definitely not less than 100 meters. I always shoot at 100 yds (measured) , and my targets looked smaller at Bays Branch than they look on my regular range.

It is 100 yards.  Even though I was not there, I can safely say that you didn't have the firing line set up at 50 yards from the berm.  The drainage goes through at about 50 yards from the berm.

i'm amassing quite the collection of empty 2-liter, .5-gallon, and gallon jugs.  just might have to fill 'em with colored water and bring 'em along.

maybe jello?

generic pop is normally cheap enough that it is worth not storing stinky milk jugs.  Plus, the targets can be a variety of colors and easy to transport.  They blow up too.

true dat.

i'll probably stop by a pigglywiggly (yes, we still have some here in B.F. nebraska) on my way in and grab a couple 12-packs.

of course, a coffee can with a lit candle and a layer of flour at the bottom makes quite the neato fireball too.

+1  I used to buy flats of wally world pop to blast at.  Nice little explosion.  I wonder if it is cheaper at Aldi?  Hmmmm.......

I don't know what I am bringing as of yet.  Probably 2 liter bottles and whatever I can find that is fun to destroy.
